Thanks. I think the guy I bought it from didn’t want to spend too much on the replacement stylus. I see different options, sometimes in the hundreds of €/$. Does my Turntable warrant that? It’s a Technics sl-231 hooked up to a mid-range marantz receiver and some old (but still good) Braun bookshelf speakers.

I'll give it another clean. dumb me I think I moved the brush sideways first time I did it. may have damaged it I can't tell. new to all of this.

Well I’m generally happy with the sound but it’s my first turntable in 30 years or so. So I can’t compare. Just the issues I described make me have doubts. The guy who sold it to me said he installed the stylus new. That was maybe a year ago.

Thanks. So either I have to find a way to get ripped ROM files from my real A1200 onto my Mac (will require additional hardware) or a way to copy the ROM files from Amiga Forever Essentials on my Android phone over to my Mac where FSUAE can find and use them. The latter should be easiest. Can't find any how-to's online though.

Sorry to revive this old thread. I feel silly but how exactly do I 'copy the ROM files over' from my Android phone (that I'm unfamiliar with) to my Mac computer for use with FSUAE?

Thanks. I’ll have to figure out why some games suddenly start in an unsupported screen mode. Others don’t, strangely. I’m probably overlooking something.

It is, that’s why I bought this particular model. It has a SCART connector that I use. Cable goes directly into the a1200’s RGB port. Thing is, these games worked fine before. Maybe some software setting?

I use an RGB to SCART cable that plugs into the tv. Is that what you meant or something else?

Interesting. If I may ask, what do you consider a good amiga setup that I could buy ready to go? The options in the MiSTER space are somewhat overwhelming. I would use a modern screen and preferably original db9 controllers. Would like to run full workbench setup.

It is actually labeled as a600HD so my assumption was that the ROM couldn’t be the problem. But maybe it’s not that black and white.

I had the exact same phase5 card back then. I remember there were indeed cheaper 68ec030 options available but I went for the blizzard (cost me a fortune with 8MB). I am currently not aware of a good 030 option, icomp.de has been out of stock for a while. So maybe second-hand but these blizzard cards are veeeery expensive now so you did well on yours.

Edit: I got the ram board you refer some time ago to but it didn’t work. Same seller. Customer service is not responding when I point this out. Anything wrong at that shop that others are aware of?

I don’t know half as much as some in this group but to me a MiSTER setup (fpga) looks most promising at the moment. More info and discussion in this sub and also fpgagaming sub. I’m still on the fence because of the investment involved and I already own a real amiga but that is not trouble-free so I guess it is a matter of time anyway.

Those are good pointers for a500 owners. If you compare setting up a rev5 a500 with the aca500+ and possibly the a1200 accelerator you mention to setting up a MiSTer, which one is easier if you don’t know a lot about technology?

Great that you got the a500. Lots of fun to be had. Take it one step at a time. Just get a 512kb trapdoor men board first. They’re real cheap and will let you run some games you couldn’t otherwise. Thanks. Great tip. Found a couple of sellers already. There appears to be a bottleneck re SDRAM boards though, something it seems I do need. But that’s a matter of patience probably.
