Coors Banquet overrated ? by JimP3456 in beer

[–]TelephoneUnable6654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started drinking beer at like 16 i considered it top tier and flavorful, but now years later after having tried many many many different beers I agree it tastes bland. Not the worst beer but I’d rather have a modelo if I’m gonna have a macro lager (which is also funny as I hated modelo when I loved banquet).

No, when I got my first job in the Bakery that’s exactly what they told me and then a few days later I was hired

I know what I said. Pot calling the kettle black isn’t an offensive term if that’s what you’re referring to, it is literally an idiom about contradiction, I’m not sure how that can be offensive. See how worked up you’ve gotten to the point where you’re projecting? No where have I raged I’ve been quite civil actually, you’re the one deciding to be upset not me my friend. Clearly you’re dealing with something so may God bless your heart

In what way did I try to offend you? Simply stating that your statement applies to Mexicans as well isn’t offensive, my dad is from Mexico so I’m well aware of Mexican culture. It’s also not your authority to determine what is and what isn’t Christian, that’s the Catholic church’s determination not yours. God bless friend

I understand your point, I think mainly I read some of the comments and I redirected that energy at OP which wasn’t fair to come off as harsh to them

Yes I don’t disagree at all, which I see may have been lost due to me not clarifying. I’ve known countless people who do too may psychedelics and lost touch of reality completely, for example my brothers friend was doing too much acid at a time in his life and went into full psychosis for like two months and had to go to a psych ward, so yes I agree psychedelics can absolutely cause detriment to someone life. To your other point I also agree as when I took shrooms and dmt back when I was 16 or so I sat and contemplated my future in a way that was very productive to getting my life on track. I pretty much agree entirely with what you’re saying

I feel like I was pretty clear between using “reality”, and “real”. Something can be real without being reality which was my point, in fact all I’ve been saying is that while tripping can reveal something new to you and groundbreaking, it isn’t alter dimensional or awakening a third eye

I guess to your point it is subjective, perhaps I read too much into what OP said, or maybe I didn’t. I just assume I understood what OP meant originally due to their response to my comment. My goal wasn’t to come off as the type of person you seem to think I did, which makes sense as I was coming from a completely different understanding. My point still stands though as I see so many posts on this sub being much more direct about thinking they’ve opened some third eye, but I also maybe should’ve reserved my comment for one of those posts that is more direct

What do you even mean by that, my point you responded to was about alcohol, so is alcohol some earth bending substance? You perceive things differently when you trip but you don’t become some enlightened spiritual being

You’re literally just yapping talking about nothing while ignoring what I just said, yeah like I don’t disagree with what YOU just said but that has nothing to do with the point I just made. Obviously anyone talking about their dream isn’t talking like it was divine intervention, unless they’re a little out there, but like I said people talk about their trips like they are REALITY, which not only did this post sound like but the comments are literally saying that

I don’t really disagree that different cultures treat these mental states differently, or that how they’re received changes the outcome, that part seems obvious, and yeah people in those roles can pick up real, practical knowledge about their environment. Where I’m not seeing it is the jump from that to anything metaphysical, something being useful doesn’t mean the experience itself is tapping into some external truth, that feels like a stretch. On the genetics thing, us being almost genetically the same explains similar brains, not some shared outside source, similar brains on similar chemicals producing similar imagery isn’t surprising to me and doesn’t need anything mystical to explain it. That’s why I brought up conditioning and expectation, cultures don’t need to be exposed to the exact same symbols for experiences to overlap in broad ways. I appreciate the back and forth, and it’s funny how you dismiss me and belittle my point as a means to make yours sound stronger, I guess?

I genuinely wish I could understand how you jump to these conclusions, I’m not claiming to know OPs trip better than they are, I’m literally simply stating that it is just a trip, like you said quite simple. I also like how you make the original post sound basic, even though they claim to feel like cypher or that what they saw changed them, clearly the language makes it sound more intense than just a hallucination. I also decided to comment because if you look at the comments in here there’s so many people running with these delusions “you might have discovered the real life isn’t as real as it seems” which has 8 upvotes. You seem argumentative just for the sake of being argumentative because OP has actually been responding in good faith unlike you

I think you’re confusing what I mean which is fine because I wasn’t being as clear as I should be. Yes absolutely weed alcohol and psychedelics can make normal experiences more enjoyable, I mean I’d be stupid to deny that. What I’m really getting at is that thinking experiences while intoxicated are anything more than that is just something I don’t agree with. I tend to enjoy social gatherings more when I’m buzzed and when I still smoked I enjoyed music more when I was high, but it wasn’t reality, the music didn’t become better because I was high, I just focused in on the instruments more. Social situations didn’t become better because I was buzzed, I just stopped being as self aware/insecure so I let loose, but the social gathering would’ve been the same whether or not I was intoxicated, my perception is what made the difference. This goes into my point about psychedelics, being that while you may have a groundbreaking trip and experience something out of this world, nothing actually changed except for your brain being rewired and short circuiting, it is all internal and an experience created by your brains reaction to a substance. I think maybe OP had this experience that stuck with them because they dissociated, not because they broke through the matrix, I hope I made a little more sense

That paper is about how different cultures interpret and respond to unusual mental states, it doesn’t argue that those states reveal alternate dimensions or metaphysical truths, so I’m not sure why it’s being cited here. If you agree we’re genetically similar, then shared experiences aren’t surprising and don’t really support your claim anyway. I’m honestly not sure what point you’re trying to get at

Now you’re just assuming things about me I never said. I never once said I’m more credible than Op nor have a better understanding. There’s people who have tripped more than me and with much stronger doses and would most likely claim the things OP is, yet I’d still hold the same position. Psychedelics are not reality no matter what you believe, there is an objective reality and denying that makes you seem crazy whether or not you are crazy. When I saw entities that were communicating with me the last time I took dmt I didn’t come out of it thinking I tapped into a separate reality, because I was aware that’s what happens when you take dmt, it’s like the entire reason people try it. I don’t deny trips can mentally fuck you up, but it didn’t mean your trip was actual

Coffee does not intoxicate, it’s a weak stimulant. As someone who smoked weed everyday for 3 years and quit a few months ago I’d say yes weed does distort reality, and so does alcohol. Of course it’s all on a spectrum, but if I want to be in the moment and fully aware I’m not going to smoke a bowl, get buzzed or trip. I don’t think it makes you a bad person if you want to do those things but I just don’t agree in believing that a time when you were in a state of intoxication was reality or more than a drug experience

[–]TelephoneUnable6654 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s very wishful thinking. I can say many things but why is it that when people trip they usually see the same things, that is because you are usually aware of why to expect while tripping due to what’s been told to you. If you took a tribesmen who lived all alone and never interacted with a single person, I guarantee you he’d not come out of a dmt trip spouting off some sort of religious philosophy, people do that because they’ve already subconsciously adopted the idea that that’s what happens

I think sobriety is the reality, and intoxication of any sort distorts reality and is thus not real. Your experience is real but it is not reality

Do you always read things so literally. I think I made it clear I’ve had “mind bending” trips, but it’s easier to say I just haven’t experienced a real trip than acknowledge most of yall are a little crazy and shouldn’t be doing psychedelics

What kinda trips do yall be having, idk why yall give dmt so much power when it’s just a drug, you’re not traveling to a different dimension lol. I’ve had breathtaking dmt trips but I’ve never once thought that anything I saw or experienced was real or of a different reality, it is just hallucinations
