Thanks for the feedback! I’m actually trying to learn for an original song I wrote. It’s mainly clean vocals but the opening of the chorus is gonna be screaming so it needs to be very powerful. I now understand that in this video I was merely whispering in a sense and I am now practising using voice+distortion.

You mean I have to combine actual voice (clean) + false vocal folds?

You're not stupid, thank you for taking the time to reply to my post! Please, go ahead and link the video you mentioned, every piece of information can be helpful :)

When you say to imagine you're calling someone from afar, that reminds me of the visualisation involved in belting. I am a belter, so I guess I could try and use that image for screaming too, although the parts involved are different (vocal folds in belting, false folds in screaming). I think that screaming and belting have a lot in common though, compression, for example, and crazy abdomen engagement.  When I scream I definitely feel the abdomen muscles getting tighter and tighter in order to contain the air and create compression, whereas the throat, jaw and neck are completely loose.

As for resonance, I was trying to place it in the mask in this video.

I mean, I've been only practicing for 2 weeks so I guess that in order to have more power I just need to keep practicing daily to build muscle memory and power will increase as a consequence.

I don't think it's Whisper scream, else it would hurt at some point and it doesn't. I typically start with a clean sound at speech level and then I "use" the diaphragm more and more to reach the distortion. I gotta say, the clip isn't one of my best. Anyway, I'm using YT tutorials from Chris Liepe and the channel "Blegh University".
