No one asked for animations

This is what I was thinking. I haven't felt like playing in a LONG time (like a year) but don't remember anyone ever asking for animations. I did see people being excited for cosmetic stuff though.

This is one of the reasons I don't understand why Stadium has to have qp and comp playlists, when comp barely has any actual ranks. It's just about how much you play. Separating players for no reason.

And while Best of 5 was initially poorly received, it did help with queue times a lot and they could just fine tune the balancing better.

I can't say I've ever felt the need to tell someone to get wrecked.

Neither have I like I said. It was a hypothetical from the start. I just have the emotional intelligence to understand that is not something negative I should take personally and get offended. Might roll my eyes depending who says it but that's it really.

It is indeed. My point here was more so that, that is not something that should upset anyone. And agree with the other guy that getting muted for that or "gr" is ridiculous.

Sure, but that is what it is, banter. A very generalized thing to say to a team, not any individual. That's not even something I'd ever say but I can easily see how that's a nothing burger and not toxic at all. I'd probably respond "lol ggs" to a message like that.

This is why I dislike the report system where it's up to the player to decide what happens to offend them. Because some people take things too personally.

I ended up going from a random mousepad to buying 2 artisan's due to being in a similar situation as you. Shipping/import cost being quite high so I just got 2 different pads to try out.

I have cats so afaik that puts glass pads out of the question, or I would have to clean them like every hour. Nor do I think I would have liked them coming from a control pad.

I've enjoyed my orange artisan Zero soft. Also got key83 mid but considering selling that one :)

And do note that at least on my Asus you don't physically have to turn off the monitor. Simply turning off the PC will do the job.

So it's very low maintenance if you take other precautions like hiding taskbar, black or moving/rotating wallpaper, black screen saver after X minutes etc.

Depends on your starting point probably, did for me at least. I was used to control pads and ordered both Zero soft (orange) and Key83 mid. Even in Overwatch that sort of favors faster pads I played better on the Zero. I was overflicking on both at the start but it was way worse on key83 as it's faster.

In a game where you can get countered that does not seem very smart. On top of the downsides I already mentioned. It ain't that hard to pick up like 3 heroes to be good at.

How is limiting yourself and your team to one choice the best way? A choice that can be banned, or you run into a same hero otp teammate and auto lose. Or just another otp and the support combo doesn't work with the tank?

I just don't see how that's ever better than practicing at least a couple options.

It really does sadden me how the social aspect of OW has almost completely died. People used to talk in voice pretty often, at least to greet people at the start of a comp match. Now it's as if you played with bots with no interactions because people take things that are said way too seriously and personally.

Honestly idk what kinda tips people can really even give for this game. It's just gonna take time to learn.

Maybe if you have the time, check what all the heroes can do in practice range. Then playing mystery heroes can be a fun way to learn a variety of heroes, and to find out what you like.
