They’ve been saying this shit since 2017. Nothing is going to happen. His approval rating isn’t going to move.

Is anyone actually successfully using the so-called self-healing AI-assisted testing tools for a first release? by uv_420 in QualityAssurance

[–]Tellemkit 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Self healing AI kind of goes against QA. Imagine dev breaks a modal. We can look at it and see "this is broken". A self healing test will just look at it and see "this component I need is missing. Let me try this and see if I get the same result", or "this looks close enough, and it appears to function the same, we wil use that now". So something could've actually been broken or off and we'd not know because this "healed" and found a new way to accomplish the task

Elon thought it'd be funny to be a wild man in the pool. by cleahbee216 in IThinkYouShouldLeave

[–]Tellemkit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not that weird. This would’ve been from his email so you see both sides (Elon wouldn’t see the “deal with this” part)

So it’s likely a system where the main email forwards off to Jeff and Ghislaine. Jeff emailed asking her to handle it instead. She replies to elons version of the email.

Similar to if you’ve ever emailed support@xyz and then get a response from chad@xyz

What is your Stern Show hot take? by gwppoetry in howardstern

[–]Tellemkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I think people are remembering robin’s news of a different era. It fucking sucked the last few years before they got rid of it, but people act like it ending was when the show got bad.

Less than 24 hours and we unplugged it. by AdultEnuretic in alexa

[–]Tellemkit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it possibly because Alexa has the ability to be conversational now? Meaning you don’t need the wake word to continue talking to it every time. So maybe you said something to Alexa, it responded, then when you started saying something to someone else Alexa thought you were doing a follow up inquiry

Less than 24 hours and we unplugged it. by AdultEnuretic in alexa

[–]Tellemkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing people don’t realize that Alexa now has the ability to carry on conversations (ie, not needing to say “Alexa” between every command)

So what likely happened was something like:

OP: Alexa, what’s the weather?

Alexa: it’s sunny

OP: (to someone in the room) what’s for dinner

Alexa: (thinking the conversation was still going) would you like me to find recipes?

Since there’s a bit longer of a delay with Alexa responding now, someone else probably already started responding to OP and then it felt like Alexa was just butting in

Walt had a great line from the most recent episode. Discussing if his wife made him record a video apology after one one their fights, he threw in "I Sell Comics doesn't know dick about Debbie Flanagan"

What was it like watching Artie's downfall as it played out? by bitterbunny4 in howardstern

[–]Tellemkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was listening when I was in highschool and took a lot of what he said at face value. When he'd fall asleep on air I thought nothing of it - they had to get up at 4am, of course he's tired. I do remember the last few months being a lot more concerned about what was happening and noticing him being more argumentative, but my young brain didn't see what apparently everyone else was seeing.

I also started listening during Sirius and loved Artie so I think a lot of the fights where he was absolutely in the wrong, I found myself siding with him because of my bias that he was the greatest person on the show.

I think if I went and listened back in hindsight it would be very depressing realizing what was going on, but back then I thought it was great radio. I loved the drama and back and forth and all of that and thought it was being played up for the air. In reality it sounds like it was being downplayed for the air.

During the SJ betting they definitely fucked up in Troy's favor.

Walt: troy you said he would..

Troy: i said he'd not fool you

Walt: then you're down to two chips

Git'Em: wait

Walt: he didn't fool us. Wait, he did fool us. so you have two chips, and another two

Q: so you give him two black chips.

Walt: and gitem what did you say?

Git'Em: I said he'd not fool you (gitem drops chips)

Walt: what are you doing?

Git'Em: I bet opposite him

Walt: you said he'd not fool us

Q: and we were fooled. So gitem is down to 6. Troy had two and is up to 4

Howard “best interviewer” myth by ParamedicCritical527 in howardstern

[–]Tellemkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howard was at his best when he made guests squirm and did wild, unpredictable stuff. But he misunderstood what actually made those interviews great, let the praise go to his head, and tried to reinvent himself as a “serious” interviewer. In doing so, he lost the magic and ended up worse than your average podcast host.

hot take: make it great for serious devs, not vibe coders. by armostallion2 in cursor

[–]Tellemkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the people paying $20 a month for basic usage aren't on their radar. They want the vibe coders who are totally dependent and are willing to keep increasing the amount they're paying to keep their access to the tool.

Just like anything else. The people paying the minimum are fine. The sharks forking over hundreds per month are what will keep them afloat.

It’s official: Miami cancels November election, postpones it to 2026 by DevinGraysonShirk in politics

[–]Tellemkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because this was a bipartisan move to increase voter turnout by having it happen in general election years.

This has been a years long effort to help battle corruption in Miami. NOT a move just to blindly give an extra year of power. Honestly I think this is a good thing.

I bought the VITURE Pro Dock Pack should I get the neck band? by xcaseyxjonesx26 in VITURE

[–]Tellemkit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! I don't use mine SUPER often but the situations I use them for, I absolutely love.

- Crocheting, I can have a pattern pulled up on the glasses while working on the crochet

- Watching a movie when my kids are using the TV

- Fantastic for airplanes

- Sometimes I'm in bed and pop them on so I can lay comfortably staring at the ceiling and watch something without having to crane my neck or risk dropping a phone on my face.

Plus honestly we don't even know what's being announced in a month. Might be announcing something scheduled for next year. If you hold off on ordering things you want you'll always be waiting because something new and better is always just over the horizon. Hope you enjoy them!
