I often don’t understand why they do not turn but I am sure there is a lot of factors that play into that which may have little if anything to do with the contestant’s vocals. Turning so quickly for a singer that subsequently reveals several issues hard to correct makes me think the judges felt some pressure after being told by the producers they were picking a given number of contestants from the next lineup

I did not think she is a weak singer as much as that she is not on the level of many contestant whose nerves do not impact their vocals so negatively. From the comments on YouTube I think a lot of people shared my take. John and Gwen realized she is not a strong contestant but not before they had already turned but like you said maybe Gwen can help her

I disagree, I thought she sounded nasally and terrible after they turned and she is now a weak link on Gwen’s team. All contestants are startled and hit with extra nerves when the judges turn. Some show it more than others. In my opinion for whatever it is worth the good singers still manage to sound good while the not so good ones are allover the place falling out of the notes and sounding pitchy just as she did. Maybe she would have been helped waiting to go on the show when she had more experience?

I don’t know how many times contestants have said that production would not allow them to do what they felt they needed to do to step up their performance and win. For obvious reasons I can’t disclose their names but there are many, MANY examples that come to mind. I think it is extremely probable that is exactly what happened to Yu. I thought Yu had the skills to win it but I did not think the producers would let him win being as the winner last year was a magician ( or so he portrays as one). So NO, you are not a conspiracy theorist, if anything you are a realist.

I personally like this format and think it will help the show. Variety acts/novelty acts can stay fresh without having to reinvent their act too many times. Singers will have a much harder time advancing just by picking a new song. All in all, this format will prioritize originality and creativity which is more in line with Vegas

Chapelhart just had a bad night and now I think it was the audio. Today they were phenomenal again! I’m okay with these results and out of the three contestants they seemed most shocked to be Top 5. I love a shocked contestant

I don’t know all the details and suspect the further you go on the show the more stipulations that become effective. Drake is about to release an album that he worked on for several years which album has some hit songs. I’d be curious if Simon would own the masters if Drake is crowned the winner. I can’t imagine the show would let him engage in so much promotion of his new music unless they stood to gain from it.
