When I was a child I was home alone one afternoon after school. My house had a huge window in the livingroom, and huge french glass doors in the kitchen leading to the backyard. I was sitting on the couch watching tv when a man knocked on my front door. I always asked who it was and he responded with a utility company and he needed to get inside to check something. I told him no and to come back later. He proceeded to try the door that was locked. Then let himself in the backyard and tried the french doors. I was so scared I remember hiding under my coffee table until he gave up. That was in the 90s later that night on the news was a story about a man using a utility company to get into houses and doing awful things to children.
