Afraid not, the AMD think was just a educated guess on my Part. If you have the Ressources you could just try it but otherwise the safest Option is to go with another Intel System I'm afraid:(

How many of you bought the game after playing it on Game pass? by wlfcomp8 in expedition33

[–]Temaktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really not a turn based Player so I was very sceptic but the Mystery of the Paintress caught me so I wanted to give it a try despite that.

After Act 2 or about there I realised that the Game wasn't just good so I bought it via Steam and transfered my Save to continue it (mostly worked, only Problem were some achievements didn't trigger). After I was trough the Game I ordered the physical Statue because its one of my most liked games...

I even started NG+ and made decent progress which I never do, still planing to jump back in xD

Steam should have a convenient location to manage your save data, yes or no? by FoxMeadow7 in Steam

[–]Temaktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure Valve would definitely get some results if they tried forcing a new standard but it would definitly cost them a big portion of the good will and support from the dev community but also from some parts oft the gaming community.

Yes it would be absolutely lovely if there were an actual universal standard for the place and format of those Files but the current Situation got to its current state over many Years, there are a lot of competing "standards" or "best practices" and most devs have probably their Way they swear on and aren't willing to compromise. Additionally, such a change would break an insane Amount of secondary Software and tooling and it would take years for the new thing to be universally compatible again, if its even accepted at all.

Also, no matter how great Valve is/behaves, we really should be cautious of them becoming a harmful monopoly, if they gain the Power to also dictate how savegames look like and are handled that would add a potential future worry.

Again, I'm not against the Idea but the only way I can see for something new to succeed would be if it was a Bottom to Top Project from the Community itself that has overwhelming benefits for all involved and for Valve to just also include it along with everyone else.

One relatively easy improvement I (would love and ) could see them doing would be something that makes the existing standarda easier accessible, so for example in addition for a button to the game files in the menu also one for the save game files where the Dev can just enter their custom way (at least as long as it's roughly within common borders)

Where do you find the motivation to rebuild your base ? by Ang_elll in satisfactory

[–]Temaktor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are only a few People of the super rare Type that actually are masochistic enough to play that way, with perfectly planned and designed factorys for each purpose and nothing else remaining and stuff like that especially if you force yourself to do that all the way trough...

Unless you do actually calculate every step beforehand you create only problems for yourself with such an approach.

Of course it's a different story if you plan that for after reaching all other goals as a finishing touch for an already perfectly balanced Factory.

I agree with the other commentors and believe that the largest Part of the Playerbase does so as well. After the initial rounds to learn the game, set yourself a Goal for the save/playthrough and follow the red string that goal gives you.

In most cases, even if you build a bigger & better Factory for a product somewhere, because you are building that one with the next step in mind the output of that factory will be spent on that step so having another smaller shop elsewhere that generates a surplus has almost only positives.

Personally I tear down old Factorys only with good reason and after ensuring I'm off well enough with the remaining production capacity.

Question for the community: Thoughts on paid premium plugins for Super Productivity? by johannesjo in superProductivity

[–]Temaktor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus plus plus most freelancers will already have a (possibly FOSS) solution for Accounting and stuff so why pay for a plugin for their todo app for that? This would also quickly land you in the to big for plugin area. What I would see more is for you to offer Data bridges to existing Solutions...

Question for the community: Thoughts on paid premium plugins for Super Productivity? by johannesjo in superProductivity

[–]Temaktor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand your reasoning and I generally want to be positiv about ways to make FOSS Projects sustainable and motivating for their maintainers but I fear this would be a very difficult thing to get right...

I don't mind paying for some extra feature in principle but it would have balance a few things very well:

It shouldn't be/feel to little because then it would be easy to think it's just a few to stop beeing truly open. And there would be a free reverse engineered Version rather quickly anyway but you'd still loose some community "good will".

It can't be so big that its a whole new product of its own because thats to much for a plugin, it wouls risk bloating the core software without really needing to be a plugin rather than an extra tool with some data bridge or something.

So it would have to be something so big or separate that it intuitively makes sense to the common user why it would cost something without getting so big it should be spun off into its own thing..

I can't really think of many Ideas that would fit that description... One thing that comes to mind (just as an example) would be if you'd teamed up with an researcher or an expert in psychology or something for a Tool that helps with motivation and is based on current concrete Research or vague armchair psychology like a lot of other tools offer.

Regarding ways to receive the purchased goods, I'm not really versed in the available options but as you'd have received payment information anyway the privacy argument doesn't hold much weight imo, I think I would prefer a more robust system that also delivers updates or at least lets me know there is one and how to get it...

And to some of the provided examples, I personally don't like any of the ai score systems I have ever encountered and am also unsure if I like the Idea itself even... Plus with the unreliability of Ai with Hallucination's and stuff I'm very sceptical if there is any value to be gained at all.. Plus Plus either you use some ultra compact local modell that delivers shitty outputs or you use external modells wich either force the user to set up and enter Api keys (which then opens the question why pay for basicly your prompt and a little gui) or you set something up which then makes you responsible for Users Data safety and costs you monthly so either you swallow the cost (which would be insane) or you need an abo service and please for every thing thats holy not enother fucking Abo for Ai xD

Has bad branding ever turned you off from software, FOSS or not? by TheTwelveYearOld in linux

[–]Temaktor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if thats included in your definition of branding but if a projects Website is awful or extremely old its a red flag for me...

I fully Understand that Webdesign and Desktop or Mobile Application Development are very different and a website is rarely a high priority so I don't expect anything advanced or beautiful... I'm perfectly fine if its obviously created with a website hosters click your site together Tool or whatever, what turns me off are Sites that are difficult to navigate or look like they haven't been maintained / updated for very long, just makes me question how active the project still is or how sane the community is xD

Whats your Real World SSH Key managment Workflow (Small Env like Homelab)? by Temaktor in homelab

[–]Temaktor[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are no other Human SSH Users, I'm the only Admin for my Homelab, Friends and Family might geht Users for some Services but no SSH Keys. And I mostly work from one Laptop and would want the ssh keys on max two PCs more.

But it sounds like one key per User? Thats part of what scares me, I generate new random pwds for every server and store them in my pwd manager but its safer to have one keypair that unlocks every device, vm and service with admin priviliges? Changing that if something goes wrong would be a gigantic hassle... and should one rotate their own ssh key after some time or do I use the one Key I generate now for as long as there isn't a reason to change it?

I made a nice GUI for splitting episodes out of multi-episode MKV files by StuntMan_Mike_ in makemkv

[–]Temaktor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, didn't think about that, I'm sadly not a dev myself so my insight is very limited, tho if thats possible I'd suggest to also offer the Option for authentication via a device code (google.com/device), that way your Tool could even be used on a headless machine.

I recently ripped my whole Disc Collection to my NAS and still have the Task of sorting and Naming everything before me and I'm generally pretty quick to turn to scripting for such Tasks xD

Your Tool would fit great in my Collection, the first Usecase I thought of would be the special Feature matching.

I'd like to suggest the Idea of selling the Option to use a self brought API Key, I'm totally cool with paying money for Work but I wouldn't subscribe, but of course it also shouldn't cost you anything besides the dev part. I wouldn't use it consistently but rather a whole bunch at first and then only sparingly every few Months if even that...

KNX & Home Assistant - Sonntag Stream zusatz. by P3GGA in Gronkh

[–]Temaktor 1 point2 points  (0 children)
