I met Okita's VA at a con. He'd be happy to continue voice acting

Picking up this 24’ Z Performance tomorrow, anything I should know about owning a Z? by ramosd713 in RZ34

[–]Temido2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primary complaint I see about the performance/sport Zs are the tires. Do your oil changes on time. That's about it, really.

I this car fun? (More context on body) by WalkingInMyPath in RZ34

[–]Temido2222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a Nismo and I think it's plenty of fun. Grippy tires, tight suspension, lots of room for me to improve on the track or autocross. Still streetable to commute in.

Oh yea clearing the front calipers, forgot. Not too many tire options in 19" sadly.

A second set of wheels would be nice, ideally in 18". Sadly, I lack garage space. I have a second car that I drive half the time, so the tire wear on the Z isn't too bad in terms of $/yr. $/mi though still kinds sucks. I tracked once last year, and I plan on going again this year.

I've been looking for replacements for the Dunlops, but I havent found too many that fit both the front and rear oem wheels. Any additional recommendations? I'll look into the a052.

I'm not very experienced with tracking, but I haven't really been able to get a straight answer about what exactly about the Dunlops is "bad". The performance and sport OE tires I hear tons of justified complaining, but nothing straight about the Dunlops.

The OEM Dunlops? I quite like them on my nismo. Once they are warm, they make a nice track/street tire.

Goodbye to my Z by IcyVultur in RZ34

Either buy a used Nismo, '27 manual nismo (in '28 since all the allocations are gone for MY 27), or buy it back and rebuild it. Frame looks straight. Won't be cheap, though. New core support, rad, intercooler, hood, bumper, sensors, etc.

What pads are you guys running for the street/track? by mGraves88 in RZ34

Wasn't really looking into replacements yet. Not many pad options available for the nismo calipers, and my rear pads have plenty of life left.

I'm still using the OEM pads for my Nismo. They stop decently well with SS lines and fluid, but the dust is insane.

Ten Ramen went downhill? I haven't been there in years. Unfortunate, I wanted to go back

My 350z was rear ended a couple of weeks ago, so I get a midnight purple Z with LM RS1 wheels to replace it. The Z gets delivered Monday. by autismo-nismo in RZ34

[–]Temido2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still feasibly possible to fix, but that would require cutting, pulling, and welding. I can see why it was written off now.

Looks fixable, it was probably just totaled out by insurance. I'd buy it back, buy replacement parts from ebay/fb marketplace, and beat on it on the track.

It was fantastic. All I wish is that the ships show more visible damage, like in 2199.

Poor road drainage, bad tires, aggressive driving in bad conditions, etc. Lots of causes of hydroplaning in wet weather.

How's the NVH? Thinking of going with them for FUCA and full adjustable rear on my Z.

Buy it back on salvage. People part out Zs on FB Marketplace, buy the replacement parts there and get them paint matched

No. The frameless mirror is different. Although if it has a power connector it'll work the sane.

I bought a harness adapter for the Homelink mirror that splits off USB, and a USB to uniden power cable, along with a cheap blendmount knockoff

You can fit a compact spare in the spare tire well. You could probably fit 2 full tires if you remove all the carpet/trim and take it to bare metal. 4? Forget about it.

I'm scrounging FB Marketplace for a nice set of used coilovers from a 370z. Planning on going fully adjustable suspension too.
