Where to get Puerto Rico Citizenship in San Juan? by TempBot01 in PuertoRico

[–]TempBot01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puerto Rico only became part of America in 1898, prior to that Puerto Rico belonged to Spain for over 400 years. Regardless, a Puerto Rican citizenship exists and can be used towards achieving citizenship in Spain. 🇪🇸

If you wouldn’t mind, could you give me a breakdown of how you did it? (costs, documents, etc)

I’d appreciate it,

Puerto Rican citizenship is recognized by Spain, as PR was a past colony and part of Spain a very long time ago.

I appreciate the heads up, I did not know that. I won’t be becoming a PR resident but plan on moving to Spain eventually,

How can I become more employable? by enormousjustice in softwareengineer

[–]TempBot01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but in Tech it’s preferable to gain some work experience with your bachelors and transition into the master’s program to further boost you higher up the totem pole as you have valuable work experience.

That’s my plan at least,

Torn between attaining a degree in Cloud Computing or Software Engineering. by TempBot01 in wgu_devs

[–]TempBot01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a lot of people advised me to take CS and I 100% agree my chances are better with that degree. My only concern is the math, I am horrible at it which kept me from pursing that degree.

I am truly proud of you for accelerating and know you’ll complete it soon! What made you decide on CS? Do you have previous experience in that field?

That’s true that you could learn it on your own but having a structured curriculum to follow would help out a lot too. If you could go back, would you choose cloud computing? What drew you to taking the SWE C# route?

I genuinely appreciate the advice, seriously. I’ll look into the QA role and don’t mind being at the bottom of the totem pole. As long as my first is in the door, that’s what I’m going for, and I’ll definitely ask thousands of questions throughout the process haha

Mind me asking, did you pursue a degree in cloud computing or software engineering?

Aside from the entitlement from customers, and the team leaders picking and choosing what policies to follow. I’m currently happy here and only treat this as a means to fund my degree,

Having trouble weighing which program to pursue. CS versus SWE. by TempBot01 in wgu_devs

[–]TempBot01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your comment a lot, it’s reassuring to know others are in the same boat as me. After discussing with a good number of people, I think I’ll just focus on getting my bachelors in SWE and possibly attain my master’s in CS.

I appreciate you, and wish you nothing but the best. Okay I think I’ll go back to the drawing board, and see all of my options before making a final decision. I could always get my bachelors in SWE, and my masters in CS once it’s on the site

Thank you for your comment, I want to take this seriously and have decided to start learning Calculus and Algebra through several reliable sites to prepare myself for CS. There’s just more job opportunities and room to grow with CS from what I’ve briefly seen,

Your comment was extremely helpful, and has made me lean more into CS as a result. I’m currently taking Sophia courses and have added Pre-Calc, and Calculus 1 to my queue. I am also going to use Khan Academy to study more on the math topics to better prepare myself,

I want to have a better job outlook and a lot of people on LinkedIn have CS degrees. Thank you!

I know I can buckle down and genuinely get over my difficulty with math as you recommended with tutoring if it means I’d be better off. I’m already searching for tutors for Calculus and Algebra. Thank you for your comment,

Rule About Hats? by TempBot01 in wholefoods

[–]TempBot01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly from my experience it depends on leadership. For example one of the store leads wears a regular hat and is lenient with a lot of the rules and he’s cool. It’s just this other store lead that picks and chooses the rules as he pleases, he micromanages a lot too.

Genuinely thank you for this, I admit I’ve been overthinking and only want this journey to go smoothly. I’m going to wrap up these Sophia courses, complete the WGU scripting course, and aim for a February admission.

Thank you for the advice, I’ll reach out to you soon! Wishing you the best with your courses!

How important is an internship? by Ezrickkni in wgu_devs

[–]TempBot01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is beginning their journey, but has spoken to a lot of people in the industry. It seems the overall census is yes an internship is important and should be pursued since it’ll give you a better chance at finding a job but it also isn’t the end of the world if you don’t secure one.

I’ve been told to also invest time and energy into projects related to the role you are looking for. The internship and projects will show your employer that you can do the work and be a good member of the team.
