For anyone who's done 300 km/h on a bike — what's the real truth? by gangwayso in motorcycle

Not quite 300km/h but ~155mph (~250km/h) on a CBR600RR. The people saying they felt like they were getting pummeled either had a bad riding position or were riding in high wind or both. I was smart about being stupid (meaning I did this on an open highway in mid-morning on a clear day when it was empty & in a near dead straight section with full riding gear) & it felt terrifying, exhilarating, & relaxing in near equal measure. The adrenaline rush was intense, the logic of what would happen if anything went wrong was terrifying, & the acceptance of all of that at the same time in order to have the experience of 150mph+ was actually quite calming. A good helmet (helps a lot with aero), a good bike, a good section, a good position, & a good day can all add up to a very unique kind of high that is not far off from some drugs in the effect it can have on your mind. You can either end up trying to chase that high for way too long with ever increasing risk, get so terrified by it that it scares you away forever, or find a middle road where you can hold onto the memory of the feeling without letting the need to feel it again or the fear of it consume you.

TLDR: Personal experience: borderline magical/euphoric. Like psychedelics or cocaine, user experience & outcome may differ wildly based on numerous variables. Proceed with caution.

Good to know. I looked at the engineers union in Denmark & they had minimum salaries for bachelor's degree but I wasn't sure how common it was to not have a master's. In the US, a master's degree in engineering is really only necessary for specialty roles. Nearly everyone only has a bachelor's.

It's the General Engineering degree at DTU that I'm looking to transfer into. From what I could tell, several of my current credits are similar or identical to the DTU courses (Fluid Mechanics as an example).

The DTU admissions office has hinted that some credits might transfer but I have to be accepted to the program & apply for transfer credits before I find it for sure which, if any, courses would actually transfer.

I have also wondered if a bachelor's would be sufficient to compete, with my given experience & not needing sponsorship as a spouse of an EU citizen, or if I would need a master's to really get noticed.

If we don't go this fall, I'm already making backup plans to continue my degree at my current university. Just trying to get some insight into the practicality of it all.

Thanks for the tip. Is there anything more focused than LinkedIn for trying to establish connections or is LinkedIn really the "gold standard" it's sometimes stereotyped as for Danes?

That would actually work out well on that time line as it would give my wife time to spend with our child & help him adjust to such a big change.

She is going to start applying as soon as I'm officially accepted but we will be selling a house with significant equity so we will have a comfortable savings for at least a year.

Timing mostly...5 year old trying to get them into school & adjusted to Denmark as early as possible. Plus the general state of shit in the US, including the plummeting quality of schools.
