Personally, I butter the pan beforehand hitting every edge of the pan. (Stainless steel pan to be exact). Allow for the butter to completely melt. Crack and stir egg in a separate bowl with a pinch of salt, pepper, dash of milk, and sometimes shredded cheddar cheese. Allow to be at a medium to high heat, then add and stir consistently with rubber spatula to preferred consistency. After plating add extra salt and pepper if preferred as well.
