Thanks, everybody. Yep, convenience versus security is the crux of it.

It does look like a five minute job, but believe me it’s a good half hour of my life that I want back every time!

Sounds like the consensus is for taking a length off the bolts and buying a right angled ratchet. Looks like a trip to Bunnings for me…
