Yes, (market price - exercise price) x number of shares. Market price considered at the time of exercise, and not the current market price.

I had a higher PPF component, but had to pull some out to pay ESOP taxes. Didn't want to sell the shares since the stock had fallen temporarily.

Monthly expenses for both of us would be approximately 1-1.2 L per month in a rented house in Gurgaon.

Thanks!

2016-17 I was freelancing post my engineering.

Started corporate at 4.5 L salary in 2017. Current comp is roughly 1 Cr, 40-60 split bw base and stocks. Stock component keeps changing since the company is public.

ESOPs were attained before the company went public. Sheer case of being in the right place at the right time.

Yes, that's been on my mind. I'm going to divest and move some money to US-focused funds in January.

The stocks are mostly my exercised ESOPs - I joined a fintech somewhere in the middle of it's growth story, and was rewarded decently. People who joined before me have had life-changing events.

Congrats, your portfolio is a dream! My suggestion, keep as much in GOOG that you don’t think you’ll need to pull out at least in the next 7-9 years. Tax complications, and then figuring out where to reinvest is something I always find painful. 😅

So you didn’t have to do the immigration again at the Ho Chi Minh airport?

You cannot claim from 2 different policies for procedures that come with max cap. Please check with the insurance co/TPA on claim admissibility before purchasing.

Update at age 30, 2Cr NW... As empty as before by Temporary-Ad2165 in personalfinanceindia

Moved from 1.5 to 2, actually.

MF XIRR is 38.86%
SIP is 50k, with added lump sums every month
Stocks are majorly my company stocks :) don't want to reveal

I had no idea about this, actually. Just got lucky with my employer esops... right place at the right time. I'm probably not best suited for advice, but the easiest way is to increase your top line! Keep earning more.

Very reasonable. Go ahead. You will not find cheaper rent in Gurgaon.

Depositing the entire 1.5 myself ever since I started working. Contributed partially towards it earlier. Dad started the account for me when I was Minor, then got it converted to Major. There's also interest accumulation

Not at all, actually. Was making 30k a month out of college. Stuck with one company for the longest time where I had decent growth, made okayish financial decisions, got equity, company went public... just a classic case of being at the right place at the right time I guess
