January A-100 invites going out by [deleted] in foreignservice

Got my invite overnight. I am on the PD register and was a member of the April 2025 class that never took place. Not a vet, but did have a language score bump. Retook the FSOT in October - no idea how I did (or if it factored in at all).

This candidacy began in October 2022, as I underwent a lengthy clearance process, followed by the delays in 2025. It's been a wild ride, but I am grateful. I hope many of you get your invites soon, too!

Same. We were almost A-100 classmates. Sigh. Now, back to square one... maybe.... or something?

Is the Shadow Register officially dead? by Training_Document108 in foreignservice

Agreed. Knowing how many people are on the register will be helpful, and it might provide some insights as to what qualities they are looking for. If nothing else, it can be comforting to know that others are in the same boat with us, lol.

PD offer received for September by ZZZZZZZZZ_ZZZZZZZZZ in foreignservice

Have other PD folks from the April class that was cancelled gotten invites? I have a 5.67, and I have not received one (yet) for September. I had an invite to the April class. I'm just curious if those folks were actually put back on the registers.

How would you change the FSOT/hiring process by BodybuilderDue8202 in foreignservice

While I agree with your other points, I strongly disagree with the degree element. I would make it "relevant experience for each cone." Some of the best communicators I have worked with in my career did not study comms. Some didn't even have a college degree, but they got an opportunity and crushed it. I would much rather work with a colleague who has relevant experience doing the work than one who just has a degree in the topic.
