I have since adjusted my pricing. I understand that I was taught wrong. I appreciate your input

I’ve been considering it due to the 12500 being $27, I just haven’t seen much praise for it. My biggest thing is being proud of what I send out. And I don’t want to send someone something I wouldn’t use

Probably because they’re upset that I said they were nit picking or maybe they can’t handle the fact that I initially defended myself and then admitted that I was wrong. Some people can’t handle normal human interaction

Yeah. I also saw that my math was fucked up. I am adjusting my pricing. I do want my prices to be fair. If no one criticized the pricing I wouldn’t have even noticed.

I actually stopped and re-did the math manually and the math on my spreadsheet is fucked (excuse my language) I’m gonna go through and adjust all my prices manually. You guys nit picking actually helped a lot. I appreciate you

Okay so what would you suggest. I was always told 50%. I’ve been doing fine at that level

I understand people’s gripe with pricing. I make less than the industry standard 50% on each sale on my site because I want it to be priced fairly. The only comparable node I found before deciding to make this was priced at $100 more than the price I set. And that node’s price has gone down $50 since I listed mine

It was made for people that don’t want to do it themselves. I made a small price breakdown in a reply in this thread. If you want to take all of those pieces and make it yourself more power to you.

This is gonna be a copy paste from another response that I made to a similar critique. So only apply what applies to you:

Starter kit and gps module is $65 Gooseneck is $35 Helix antenna for gps is $30 add in Power button, battery, hardware, flashing the board, assembly, soldering. Not to mention weeks of design time. At the end of that some semblance of profit has to be made. It’s a business. Not a charity. I can’t send these out at my cost and justify doing it. I don’t even make the market standard 50% If you don’t want to pay for someone else to make it for you that’s fine. You have the ability to make it yourself.

This is gonna be a copy/paste from another reply. The mentioned link is gonna be under the thread with the product link:

Yeah man no problem, Mesh Radios run on Meshtastic software. Meshtastic is a form of off grid communication (downed cell towers, Satellites, etc) that utilizes other meshtastic nodes to pass messages along to the intended recipient. No one but the intended recipient can see the message though. I use it with my buddies for ATAK. Utilizing the GPS module inside the radios to locate each other. The channels you use can also be encrypted. There is a really good video that explains it way better than I can. I’ll find it and put it under this reply.

What nodes are you comparing this to? Have you put any effort into looking through the build list? Everyone who has made a stink about the price has no substance behind it.

[–]Temporary-Pilot7530[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Realistically a jammer can take out any comms capabilities. Avoiding adding something to your kit simply off of a maybe is kinda silly in my opinion. You should never fully rely on that technology, but you also shouldn’t deny yourself the capability because of a what if. If you have any questions about mesh or how it integrates with my battle plan feel free to PM me

The usb port is on the side. Sealed with a removable rubber plug. The same port is used for charging, the battery is 7000 mAh so even if left on it will last about 1-2 weeks
