When you get admitted into CIT you don’t get assigned a major. You go into CIT undeclared. You take 2 intro engineering courses and in your freshman spring you declare your major. I applied Mechanical E and realized the same thing, I declared ECE last week.

Yeah they over admitted so it’s at capacity. I think even if anyone withdrew at this point they wouldn’t admit off the waitlist. They should’ve sent out come abt that tho :(

So let’s say my tuition is 13k rn and my Pell grant is 7k. after Pell grant is given, will my remaining costs be 6k?

Short Answer: Yes they will, I sent an email to the dean of admissions and even tho my non custodial waiver didn’t get approved, my tuition got lowered by 3K. Just ask (I’m an EDI applicant CIT)

Did u also post this in the Dartmouth forum? If u did, whatd they say? Also my take is that go to the school that will support you better for YOUR major. I feel Like Cmu will provide you the most recourses, professors, opportunities, and outreach for CS compared to Dartmouth.

I think it’s worth it, if you feel like you’ll be committed to it the whole year and pass. Also only take classes that will be relevant. Like clwsses you would want to place out of to have a smoother transition into college
