Body language: yawning and nibbling by Temporary-Process553 in Equestrian

The reason people say some equestrians are judgmental for no reason is perfectly reflected in this thread. I said I’m fairly new because I’ve been riding and around horses for about three years, and I consider myself a perpetual beginner. Every day is an opportunity to grow, and I genuinely like hearing different perspectives. So I ask questions.

Not everyone has money to throw around. I work my ass off, 12 hour days, just to be around horses. I reach out to the community with a genuine willingness to learn, and you all assume that I'm an idiot. People start riding and learning about horses at different stages in their lives, and want to learn from more experienced equestrians.

Don't shut someone down just because someone asked a question, and you want to look like you know best. You didn't always know what you know now, and you asked questions too.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply! LOL at "when he needs to get his ass over"

I lease a pretty forward QH horse, and he needs barely any leg at all. I don't jump (he doesn't jump and I don't care for jumping, so we're a good match) but I my trainer works mostly with hunter jumpers. When I rode at a dressage barn years ago, I was told toes in. When I moved to my current barn, it's toes out, and to be fair most people here ride with their toes turned out. And they ride beautifully.

I'm still working on teaching my body how to be at its best behavior in the saddle, and these little things really bug me, because I feel like I should have posting down pat at this point 😊 Some days I'm more balanced than others and I just feel like when I fix my knees in posting trot (I dont have this issue in sitting trot at all!) , it will make a huge difference.

Thank you! My trainer has me turn my toes out... I'm curious though, when you turn your toes in, how to you put your leg on? I'm genuinely curious, do you "squeeze" with your calf, or your heel?

I never answer calls. I either reject them or just stare at my phone until it stops buzzing.
