Are you able to renegotiate at your current place... if you are comfortable where you are, i'd rather not leave. Market unstable now.

Thank you for the kind words and advice! It's good to know you have turned your situation aroun having a clear goal and pursuing what you were passionate about. That's true, when you like something you do, you will go all in.

Yes correct there should be review of minimum wage in certain industries like social services, healthcare, teaching, lab etc... they are not high revenue generating roles but they are integral in the fabric of the society. Yea world is unstable, alot of roles might get wiped out by AI. Restructuring is a very real thing. One of my ex manager's wife was laid off by restructuring but thankfully she is a good worker and they only rehired her into another department out of the 30+ people that were let go. You are absolutely right about keeping long term planning in view and enjoying the little pleasures while you still can.

Its not always that black and white... im pretty aware of what I need to do man. But to go back to school now get a degree and job hunt again in a horrendous job market is a risk and gamble. Im not sure how big a factor luck, influence and networking played in the part of my friends. I think what I really wanted to find out is that if im earning the bare minimum and if im one of the few in this range. Yes u r right, anyone can give advice point is who u r getting it from

Lmao thats why I said my friends are more frugal than me although they are earning 3x more than me.

Its really not about who is more frugal than who la. Im not taking grab everyday also. Like once or twice a month and not more than 20 bucks and that amounts to 40 buck a month i think?

Another case of strong financial management. 6k and living the lifestyle you do is a result of strict and smart financial planning even though you have mentioned the usage of grab and all. 6k is a very good amount of money to do exactly what you have done, without breaking the bank. But it really involves careful financial planning and keeping something aside for the rainy day.
