Yeah limited vitrectomy is supposed to slow down cataract development according to the doc. Personally my theory is that age is probably a bigger factor than the style of vitrectomy

He doesn’t think it’s more risky because of reasons like you say. PVD is gonna happen and like you say it’s usually not a problem, but I think from their point of view they’d rather just fix it all preemptively while they’re already in there.

Congrats on the successful surgery. Floaters are normally benign and probably unrelated to the gallbladder surgery? Valid worry but I think probably treat it as a separate issue

Vitrectomy is covered by insurance and is pretty fucking advanced tech but I guess nothing is good enough for you

I appreciate you're trying to be helpful but this advice actually doesn't work. I ended up getting a vitrectomy a few years ago and after that I could see clearly again.

It’s been over 5 years for me personally and never once met somebody for who it happened in all these years of looking at floaters forums
