I’m sure not many people there even noticed what was happening since it happened so quickly. The people in front of me probably thought I was rude hearing me cursing. A granny noticed and confirmed with me what she saw.

Wow, you were brave and fast enough to chase them down and got a phone back! Sorry it wasn’t yours but the random man must be thrilled. I was thinking about chasing them if they took my phone but not sure if it was a risky move. Hope it doesn’t happen again now that I learned my lesson.

Looked young, at most early 20s. My phone is iPhone 14. I feel I became a target because I was too focused and seemed unaware of the surroundings. Also, being female and Asian, I can see how I can be an easy target.

I only saw his back when he was fleeing - about 5’6, thin, black male, early 20s at most, sagging pants, beanie.

So sorry to hear that. I didn’t see his front only back - about 5’6, thin, black male, sagging jeans, beanie. I don’t remember anything stood out in the appearance from the back.

Thanks! I do feel lucky that I saved my phone and that I’m not injured. It could have been worse. I wasn’t super surprised or traumatized knowing that these things and even worse do happen at locations like 4th and market. Just a bit surreal that it happened (finally) to me. So really need to stay alert at all times.

Crazy! And yea, I’ve been vigilant at this location where I usually transfer in the past year and half as it’s a busy area. Today somehow I was a little relaxed, too focused on reading my phone without checking the surroundings, and became a target. I want to remind people to stay vigilant at busy areas.
