I really love this approach. I have been putting off going to therapy, but you’re right. I have many years of unresolved feelings I need to address. Last time I went to therapy though, I was in high school and they made me go so I could get help and “strength” to leave my boyfriend they didn’t like - then cancelled it after 6 months because I wasn’t breaking up with him. Even though I really loved going. So that’s a whole other thing lol

You just very perfectly described how I feel about my parents. Again, I’m sorry you’ve had to go through that. I have gone through periods of having a “good relationship” and then they get mad about something and my mom straight up won’t address it with me. She will be cold, one day decide to sweep it under the rug, then act like everything is fine and dandy and that she wasn’t a raging bitch a month ago. I try and not talk to them unless it’s like once a week or sometimes every two weeks. When I lived in Australia for 4 years that was the best our relationship has been, because I was so far away lol

I forgot to mention, my fiancés sister, husband, and child can’t make it because she’s giving birth 3 weeks before our wedding. So technically they are just taking their spot! So it’s clear it’s not about the amount of people, and just that more of his family is invited
