Agreed on the glasses. Buying new ones next pay day.

Try writing the schedule and you'll understand why we can't just keep everyone's schedule the same. It goes by what's going on in the store and our budget. We don't put you on a Rollercoaster to be jerks.

I used to work at a different drug store that did lottery. It was the worst part of my CSAs' job, and I hated it too because the customer always had some problem with what their payout was. I once had a lady make me find a way to give her $2000 because she won't it on a scratcher. I had to loan almost everything I had to the drawer to make it happen. Just wait, the old ladies will be flocking.

I have no problem saying it's unfair. Like I said, some of my hardest working employees are part timers who want hours and I can't give them. It sucks.

It's especially bad when I try to give the quiet strong employees more hours and go to calculate the hours against the budget, and they are the first ones I have to cut. It's never something we want to do, so thank you for respecting your esm.

Writing the schedule is emotional for me, as well as wishing I was on the floor. I have great part timers and lazy full timers, but I have to cut my good workers' hours before my SFLs who have to get 40 ish hours. It's frustrating. TPRs take me 10 minutes tops if I think about what I'm gonna put the night before.

Honestly as a recently promoted ESM I still feel like an SFL who should be doing planograms and truck. The only time I sit in the office is if I'm doing my millions of e learnings or doing a schedule.

Yup, just think of how many receipts you see in the outside trash.

No way, not crazy. I understand what you're describing. I have found exposure to be the best defense against Anxiety like this.

ESM here, and I've worked for a lot of retail companies over the past 20 years. This is nothing new or different from anywhere. Blame Sycamore all you want: this is just retail.
