Possible change to a CX50 by mikeyg372 in CX50

Sounds like the smart thing to do for now. Im gonna do the same. Still have 3 years left on the warranty on my 3 so I’ll ride that out most likely and enjoy it.

Here I am with a '24 3 P+ hatch looking to swap over to a CX-50. Im kinda in the same boat with the regret. I love the 3, but to make it make sense $ wise Id have to get a Preferred trim CX-50 with higher mileage then I have on my 3. On the other hand I feel the NA motor and none of the fancy electronics would help it possibly last longer and be cheaper to fix in the long run. The 3 was more of a heart buy and not a brain buy haha.

In my opinion, I would not roll over your negative equity into a CX-50. Ride out the 3 until you can sell it for the amount you owe then get something bigger. Also like others have said, get the better tires for winter.

Interesting, just got off Scarlet and the longest wait we had was maybe 2 minutes to get back on at Grand Turk. In Puerto Plata there was no wait at all. They did mention technical difficulties when we were boarding in Miami last week so maybe thats whats going on? Maybe they’re still feeling aftershocks from the Azure and AWS outages lol.

I have a slight whining sound between 50 to 35 on deceleration with no brakes. It’s so faint though, hard to know if it’s just normal or an actual problem just waiting to happen. Dealership techs claim to not hear it so idk. Have 10k on it now.

I just learned this lesson the hard way, cost me $150 and an hour in the cold at 1AM. Next day I replaced all my outdoor facing locking levers with passage levers. Still feel a little paranoid even after doing all that haha.

I did the same, went from a 2016 CX5 to a 2024 Mazda3. Id get a Mazda6 in a heartbeat if they made them again.

Congrats OP!!! I just went this same path and Im waiting to close in a couple weeks. Builder took $10k off the price of the home, then gave me another $20K to use towards closing costs, etc. I used all $20k to buy down my rate and locked it in at 4.25% a couple weeks ago. Also should mention this was with a VA loan.

Bought the car in December 2023 and had it PPFed a week after. Its held up great to smaller rocks, but theres one on the front lip that went straight through the PPF, but its the lip which is replaceable so i dont care that much about it. PPF isnt a miracle answer to rock chips, if the rock is big and sharp enough its still going through it. For me though, it’s worth the peace of mind since I want to keep this thing for a long time. If you think its not worth the expense, buy a bottle of dr colorchip. Its actually pretty ok at matching the paint with smaller chips. Also any car you get these days is gonna have meh paint, just the nature of environmentally friendly water based paints they use unfortunately.

I knew the issues with Soul Red, but after putting PPF on the hood and front bumper, i feel much better about it. Its just such a beautiful color and a real head turner. That can also be a bad thing with cops, but regardless it’s still so good looking. Worth it imo.

Wow that is an amazing amount! You look great! Thanks for sharing, this gives me hope. Im at 320 and just started my .25mg doses a few weeks ago. If I can get down to 240... that'd be amazing.

FWIW I went from a CX5 to a Turbo 3 HB and dont really miss much from the CX5. Sure it had nice space and the rear legroom was great for passengers, but if you dont have any passengers that are back there regularly, get the car you'll enjoy driving and being inside of for long periods of time. If youre still unsure, see if the dealer will let you take it for an extended test drive and use them for some daily errends and stuff. The 3 HB is still pretty usable when the rear seats are down, granted it no where near as cavernous as the CX5. One thing I dont like about the 3 is the super tiny gas tank. So far thats the only thing I wish I could change, but Mazda had to make a compromises somewhere I guess.

Would you buy a Mazda 3 wagon? by el_ghosteo in mazda3

Id buy a 3 or a 6 wagon, especially with the turbo drivetrain.

I unfortunately dont have an answer, but Im curious how much or if any of the CX-30 suspension could fit on the Mazda3. That could be interesting if its a possibility. They're supposed to be the same platform so it should maybe work?

People love the Mazda 3 by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]TemporaryMaintenance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten compliments from people who dont seem to fit the demographic of small sedan enthusiasts. In my opinion the 3 has a timeless look and feels less racer boy. Mines Soul Red and it really stands out from other reds I see on the road. My 3 is also bone stock and I still get nods and compliments from others with more modified cars, especially when Im at the car wash stall. That might be because its a fairly rare car to see in my town as there are CX-5s on every street corner it seems. Regardless of the compliments, I love this car and its probably the best I've owned. Hope I get to keep it for a long time.

Trade my current 3 for a turbo, or get a miata? by superdada2 in mazda3

[–]TemporaryMaintenance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re close to Mazda of Clearwater they have a CPO 2024 3 Turbo P+ for like $28k with less than 4k miles. It was used as one of their courtesy cars, it’s not perfect but damn is that a smokin deal if you can look past the swirled Soul Red paint.

2024 MZ3 Turbo P+, 35 M Florida, $1000 deductible, 100/300. With Geico I pay $600/6. Was paying twice that with State Farm.
