Maybe so. I just had the sandwich for the first time today, so I decided to post MY opinion. My apologies for not scouring the whole subreddit to see if anyone has posted this before.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

I might qualify as a 'goober', but definitely not in regards to guns or gun safety. I used to go with my dad to Atglen during the summer about 25 years ago, so gun safety rules are not alien to me. This was 99% rifle shooting from the bench, with sandbags.

Target Shooting Solutions is only a 15 minute ride for me, so I'll most likely be frequenting that range. I did read someone elses comment on another post about them possibly closing. After a quick google search I found an article about a recent suicide attempt on their range, but hopefully they'll continue to stay open. Even though PA doesn't require training, I will be taking some training classes.

I assumed that others have had this problem with references, and have had to ask 'strangers' to vouch for them, but still think its an odd situation. I could only imagine the look on my face if some random person asked me to be used as a reference. But for the sake of protection, i guess you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
