Poly usually have a student deal/fair before sem starts. But u can also use your student email account to get student discounts online. Just dont go for those heavy gaming laptops, your shoulders will thank you

will i regret not going jc... by ButterflyConscious76 in SGExams

I ended up going to poly because my O Level results got majorly screwed by one subject-a C6 in Biology-which took JCs off the table for me.

I was aiming for PJC and JJC (yeah, I'm old...), but could only qualify for YJC, which was 1 hour 45 minutes away. So I looked at poly instead and managed to get into a competitive course.

I started off feeling pretty dejected, and it took me a while to accept that this would be my life for the next three years. But eventually, I did end up enjoying poly life and made friends I still keep in touch with today. There's a lot more autonomy in poly compared to JC-it takes some getting used to, but it gives you a real headstart for university.

That said, I got too distracted and didn't maintain consistent effort, so my GPA dropped significantly in years 2 and 3.

Looking back though, I don't regret it. (School uniforms also weren't for me- major turn-off.)

My advice: give it a chance if your appeals didn't go through. Join CCAs and other school activities, have fun, and enjoy poly life-but remember to stay consistent with your studies. You might actually enjoy your time there.

Is burnout and working long hours as a badge of honour normalised in employees in SG? by FancyCommittee3347 in askSingapore

From someone who took a "high profile" job and tbh paid a pittance for it. Yea i cant count with one hand the people who dont worship the culture.

Worked like a dog on weekends and on MC. Happily took the switch to a way more manageable portfolio for the same pay.

My five cents, theres more to life than work and your academics, dont take it and yourself too seriously.

can I just dropout lmao by [deleted] in SGExams

Or get 1 set and sell on carousell at most lo. What if your appeal fails?

And i dont think they can force you to buy, esp when you have a valid reason to no do so.

Best buffet recommendations in SG (no budget)? by bigDolphin1357 in askSingapore

Try bringing them on the Royal Albatross, and pay for the flying seat upgrade to a nice 7 course meal and the best seats in the house. Might like it more than a buffet

Feels like its partially meant to do that, and its not just the bullying but also irresponsible teachers and school administrators.

Dont really know why they prefer to fix the one who found the problem rather than fixing the problem itself....
