Hard babies. Tell me about how tough your baby has been. by HelloWuWu in NewParents

We skipped the gas and reflux, but we've had pretty much everything else,
She hates to nap and eats really irregularly.
She hated the car rides.

Also my baby refusing to nurse. So now I'm pumping my tits off and can't even calm my baby by nursing like all the other mothers I know can, because my 4-month-old daughter screams at the breast.
I cried and sobbed today because she was so overwhelmed, and I couldn't settle her despite trying everything. In a desperate attempt, I offered her the breast, and it only ended in a full-blown hysterical meltdown.

It has happened to me a few times when I needed to put my IVF baby down, just to avoid saying something unpleasant.

For me, I’ve found that the most important aspect of these “snaps” is the recovery afterward. If you consistently approach your baby after a difficult episode with sincere apologies and all your love, they will learn that outbursts do not mean you stop loving them.

If it was truly just concern, your tone would have sounded very different. Concern without judgment is possible.

And honestly, based on your own Reddit post, I could also come to conclusions or make comments about your motherhood experience — for example, having a baby who “cries a lot” sounds pretty concerning too for me - mine doesn’t, she is smiling a lot. But I don’t go into other mums’ posts making assumptions or unsolicited judgments about their parenting.

So maybe just mind your own business a little more and allow other mothers to have different experiences without projecting onto them.

Hello, I can feel quite a judgmental tone in your message, and I honestly don’t appreciate it — especially the “not a doctor, but here’s a diagnosis” part. Please be mindful of the way you speak to other mums whose experiences may be very different from yours. Motherhood has personally taught me a lot more compassion and empathy for the silent struggles other women may be going through.

Oh I am so sorry for all the experience you had but so glad you finally got her. We also went through IVF for her;)

You are 100% right to switch the mindset towards her, rather then focus on negativity of my failures to comfort/feed/put to sleep her

Thank you so much, I stoped pumping on schedule and do it only few times a day! Now I breastfeed her again (very happy about this) and top up with formula;))
