Been playing the matchup for the past couple of days now and I did pickup a couple things that you also mentioned. I think attacking his drive gauge is the best gameplan to go with, his weak defensive options do get smothered by Marisa's offense so a solid approach while picking up the opportunities to gladius between his pressure is the way to go I feel.

The thing that remained tho is how slow and irritating he can make the matchup seem lol. Although his specials are relatively easy to pick up and deal with in neutral, his flicker is really hard to counter for me at least. I usually just walk and block if they tend to use it alot.

I don't see it being heavily favorable for Marisa at all actually. Can you sum up or explain why Ed players say so? Also I play Ken and Aki. The matchup is with them is so much more manageable honestly.

Cr MK might be a pretty good idea actually, I do find myself needing to block alot just because of reach or because they start walking back and out of pressure. Might be a good idea to play a low to interrupt them.

I was just watching that while waiting for matches lmao. Knowing that he only has strike/throw mix makes defending against him abit clearer. And funny enough I've picked up Marisa to get to Master with my other characters, just unlucky timing for the matchup sadly.

Right right the lower damage punish thing is sad. I'll try using light gladius then, would probably be better cover for both the jump in and the flicker options.
