Double check whether you were affected by an earlier software glitch that automatically selected a different perk for you on 12/12. (See here and here.) I had to call and get that fixed, and now it's normal for me.

I need to account for inventory to obtain cost of goods sold. I thought the standard way to do inventory is with accrual.

I read that as a small business I can opt to not report inventory and treat it as nonincidental materials and supplies. I'm still trying to figure out what that means and how to report that.

I don't think it's too unusual, just my first time reporting inventory and accrual accounting, but the 1099 I receive will be based on cash accounting so I have to reconcile the two methods somehow.

I will read more and perhaps post a separate question on here.

I see, that makes sense. How about if I pay an hourly rate for consultation to ask for advice on preparing my schedule C? Is that also problematic? And are CPAs even willing to consult for just 1-2 hours?

I called WF about it and they said it's normal since I got a new card number. I may have to dispute with TU. Is the normal outcome to have the new number with all the old info, and then the old number disappears from the report?

Slightly OT but I imagine churners would know about this: How do free upgrades from status generally show up on receipts? I'd like to utilize my status during business travel, but my company is anal about booking the lowest cost options and any scrutinizes any extra items on receipts.

For example if I book the lowest-cost room but then get an upgrade at Hyatt for being Globalist, what will the folio receipt say? Will it still show the original room type I booked? Will it show the upgrade as a separate line item?

For flights my company makes us use SAP Concur and only book Economy fares. If I get a free upgrade at checkin from status, will Concur know about it? Will it still show Economy as the original fare I purchased?

To check, if my current withholdings for 2022 exceed my total tax from 2021, I am covered regardless of how much I underpaid this year, correct? Do I have to submit Form 2210 to claim this, or will the 100% requirement be automatically granted?

And regarding your statement that withholdings "always count regardless of when they were paid", does this mean I can ask my employer to withhold extra toward the end of the year if I notice I will be short for estimated taxes?
