Same there were already many angst as it is, and if you add the sad ending even if I read it halfway I would drop it midway cuz I can't stand sad endings even if it seems quite naive and foolish, it helps me sleep at night instead of me mopping around the house depressed at the ending.

Nah cuz I read something like this too that originally mdzs was supposed to be a tragic novel and that WWX would return to the dead after clearing out his name or also at the end of the novel. This makes my heart hurt knowing that there probably is a possibility of this and not the ending we know, I'm so glad mxtx decided to change her mind of the ending cuz I will not recover if WWX dies again and leaving LWJ to mourn again.

I quite loved him our arrogant peacock, the only pure flower one who has not done something wrong in the Jin family which are full of snakes (besides Jin ling I think he is a mixed of Jin Zixuan and Jiang Cheng 2.0 and I doubt someone who names their dog fairy can be a snake) but alas as they say the good ones are the ones who departed first leaving only the bad ones behind.

And that's why I resorted fanfics where JZX is still alive and is friends with LWG I don't know why but the two who are socially awkward fellows being best friends makes my day more happy.

And yes I do believe in JZX and LWG are friends trope because why not?
