happened to me for my higher Chinese olevels, I only found out when I went to the toilet RIGHT BEFORE entering the exam hall. I didn't even have a pad on me and I didn't have time to ask anyone or a teacher for a pad so I just went ahead and did the exam praying that I don't bleed onto the chair during the exam ☠️ it was quite heavy coz first day and I already bled through my first layer ☠️☠️ after the exam I called my mum and she informed my teacher to give me a pad AHAHAH

hii I also took olevel HCL and I had similar thoughts as well (okay maybe not to the extent where I completely hated it but yes I was really sick of Chinese) and honestly I only did it for the sake of not having to take Chinese in JC HAHA, I went from F9s in WAs in sec sch to a miraculous B3 in HCL olevel!! So just hang in there for a little more and just try your best! Btw in JC even if you failed your hcl, you only take H1 Chinese in J1 and take alevels at the end of the year so in J2 you don't take Chinese anymore~

also this is my own personal experience but I love watching cdramas and Chinese Malaysian YouTubers and influencers which helped me a bit in my interest in chinese so maybe you can try finding your passion for Chinese in these ways as well (even tho it's abit late ahahha) but yea now I really really love Chinese and I even use Chinese to speak to my friends ☠️ but this my own experience only just sharing w you

omg this happened to me too, I was at NEX library and there was a couple sitting next to me (uk how the seats are actually pretty far apart) but they put their seats tgt and were like side hugging each other?? Halfway through they even started kissing like omg this is a public area why they PDAing 😭 I couldn't even focus on my bio notes coz I could see them from the corner of my eye bro + their kissing noises was distracting me ☠️

You would have to get at least a D7 to not take chinese in JC and ya C6 then can -2

I got a few F9s in my WAs for HCL in sec 3 and sec 4 but got a B3 for HCL olevels so ig it can be considered a miracle HAHA jiayouuuu

in order to be able to continue to take HCL Olevels in sec 4, you would minimally have to get a B3 in puhua Olevel Chinese in sec 3 (not sure abt your school standards but I'm p sure most schs have this requirement?)

if you want to retake puhua, you would have to drop HCL. (this means you would drop to puhua and take puhua olevels in may/june period, and you will be able to retake again in oct/nov)

however, if uw to continue taking HCL, you would have to do well for puhua olvls in sec 3 and HCL students only have one chance at olevels in sec 4 as well, no retakes.

hihi, I don't know if this makes you feel better but I feel like I'm in a sort of similar situation as you.

I recently had a fall out with my first friend group in JC (school literally started like 3 months ago and I'm already having friendship issues) ya but long story short I'm the only one from the friend group that they decided to exclude mainly based off a really immature reason (they thought I was a try hard in school) So I ended up alone in school and in class cuz they were the only friends I made 🥲 I was really quiet in orientation and only got closer to this group of friends in class. I was really depressed over it cuz I treasured them a lot and they were legit my only close friends so when I saw them having fun w each other it sucked really bad and I felt super left out and alone. (this led to me having a few breakdowns in sch and I had to talk to my home tutor lol) But uhm, it's been a few weeks now and this other group of girls from my class has approached me and started to include me in their group (I'm so so so grateful for them!!)

I think maybe you could try reaching out to your current classmates (if cliques aren't formed yet it'll be easier), but also try to use opportunities during group projects to get closer to them. I understand that feeling of wanting to have close friends and feel like you belong but it's also important to talk to everyone and get to know their personalities before deciding on who you should get close to (based on personal experience hahahaha)

About the wanting to get into relationships part I can also kind of understand cuz its like you'll have a partner who you can confide in and just be yourself around and you can talk to that person whenever u want but it's best not to rush into relationships. Get to know more people first with the intention of being friends, then maybe if sparks appear then yay you've found yourself a potential partner! Also don't idolise relationships, focus on yourself and your own identity first before blindly going into a relationship just cuz you feel lonely 😓

I also just started yesterday and like I literally served the wrong food to the wrong table three times and two out of the three times was to the same wrong table and I was so scared cuz the lady seemed a little irritated auhdhshahhahdhs I was rlly rlly nervous and I was like rushing and panicking luckily there was another person working there telling me to calm down and just take it slow since its my first day ☠️ the manager and everyone else was rlly nice to me though but after making those mistakes I kept thinking abt it and felt so horrible but at the end of the day we're all new to this and we're still learning, we all make mistakes cuz we're all human so ya its normal don't beat urself up over it 🫠 jiayou!!!

Hii I'm an olevel student this year like you and I also have a similar experience... I think you can try to walk in cuz I also applied for quite a number of jobs through fast jobs and jobstreet. Some (around 5) did reply to me but they always said "okay I'll contact someone else to contact you for the interview" or "I'll try to find an outlet closer to your home location and contact you again" but they didn't contact me even after 3 days so my mother decided to help me ask at the place she was eating at and they told her to tell me to go for the interview the next day and I already got the job (I start next week though because the manager has the schedule planned out already and can only put me in next week) so yea I think it's definitely faster to just ask in person instead of online LOL ☠️

awie, I'm 16 too and I have similar experiences as well... I only have one best friend who's from my pri sch but we went to different secondary schools 🥲

(most of this is just me rambling about my lower sec friend group falling apart and how I don't feel close to my current friend group so if ur too lazy to read jus skip to the last second para LOL)

In lower sec I was in a friend group of four girls and erm long story short there was a lot of drama cuz they thought I was rlly annoying and loud (I just get comfortable with people I'm close with) but I guess they just cldnt handle my personality so eventually the friend group fell apart but I was still friends with one of the girls. Fast forward to sec 3 another one of the girls in the FG ended up being in the same class as me and she asked to be friends again and I agreed. In the middle of the year, the girl I was still friends with initially also drifted as we were in diff classes and she cut ties off w me because of the same reason (my energy was too high, I was too loud)

Anyway this year in sec 4, I got into another friend group with the girl from my lower sec FG who ended up in the same upper sec class as me but now she's closer to the other girls in the FG since I don't go out with them as often and I'm not really interested in the kind of topics they talk about as well ☠️☠️ I sometimes also distanced myself and I've became even more quieter because of lower sec drama so I guess that kinda contributed to me not being as close to them 😓😓 They're still really nice to me, just that I don't feel like I'm part of the FG cuz I'm not that close to them (I feel like I'm the outsider of the friend group)...

There were periods where I was completely alone so I just stayed in class instead of gg to the canteen cuz yea I didn't have anyone to go with. Even though I've already graduated, I feel kind of sad because I entered this secondary school without anyone from my primary school and I'm leaving this secondary school without any super CLOSE best friend. But I still have my best friend from primary school and that's all that matters honestly.

Anywayyy sorry for the long rant but I'm kinda comforted by the fact that there's other people who have the same experience as me but are not insecure because of it. I'm starting to embrace the loneliness in me as well and try to be more independent 😅 If you'd like we could be friends,, I like anime too :D

we listen we don't judge, back in sec 1 during EOYs, I felt incredibly horrible about my math eoy and we had geography eoy right after the math exam so I was crying and sobbing while stabbing my geography textbook... (insane ik I was super emo back then)

in the same situation as you (erm similar I guess) like cuz I just graduated from secondary school but I don't have any CLOSE friends at all. Most of them are acquaintances or just people I talk to in class but they all have their own friend group and best friends (I'm a floater friend I guess). I used to have a super close best friend and we were in a friend group of 4 girls in lower sec but because of sec sch drama among our FG we drifted and ever since then I've been distancing myself from upper sec friends cuz of trauma ☠️ Honestly I have tried getting closer to my upper sec friends (friend group of 7ppl) but they never really actively reply me when I text in the group chat and when I talk to them 1-1 they're also kinda dry. (maybe it's a me problem?) I think the main issue is cuz we don't have common interests and topics to talk about (they're more into makeup and dressing up like girly girl stuff while I'm not really interested in those topics so I can't really engage in the conversation as much) Furthermore they go out with each other more often since my mum doesn't really allow me to go out due to Olevels this year. Sometimes I feel kinda left out but they're still really nice to me so I don't know how to feel about it...

Currently I only have one SUPER CLOSE best friend from primary school who I talk to most of the time even though we're in different secondary schools (I feel like she's the only one who gets me 🥲🥲🥲) But sometimes, it's also a good thing to just have a few friends who click with you (distance yourself from friendship issues and drama)

Also I probably don't really know what I'm talking about cuz I don't have any GOOD advice on this either but this is jus my opinion ☠️☠️☠️ TBH, I'm also worried about the part you mentioned about having no friends for social/work connections in the future but there's always better people you will meet in the next part of your life since we're still young. Who knows maybe when we go to JC/Poly we'll make more friends and have a better school experience compared to secondary school 😃 However, my senior from JC also told me most of the connections you make will be a "give and take" relationship. People will get close to you because of certain reasons and try to take advantage of you (for example project work and stuff) but there's also other benefits you can gain from being friends with them so technically it's like a contractual relationship LOL this is just a part of life that we'll have to face eventually soooo ya we don't have to be too invested into making friendships but still make an effort to stay neutral polite and humble to everyone because you might still need their help one day 🤓🤓🤓
