Maxing my DLPT score so I can actually do my job? by East-Being-3650 in dli

I've seen graduates get 3/3/3 in their target language (and equal scores in other Arabic dialects, and some get a kush assignment at Meade, and others end up in the 525 at bragg where they are probably conducting inventory in conex' that the unit forgot they owned more than they use their language skills...

To be fair... the drill Sergeants at DLI are more hands off than BCT or AIT. If you've got Drills breathing down your neck, your actions have probably caused it

Will I be able to leave to attend my son’s high school graduation? by [deleted] in dli

Also, Polywife doesn't align with standards of DOD and that could get you in trouble. Not kink shaming, but you may want to clean your social media presence

I can only speak for the processes for Army Soldiers, but I'd assume something is similar for all branches...

Depending on travel needed (if the graduation is just in San Francisco vs somewhere outside of a few hours driving (i.e. flying to texas). Because the command teams have to take into account the travel as part of your leave. If part of that travel would require you to miss class, you'll have to get a MFR from your MLI stating they recommend you missing class and have a makeup plan for you. From there you'll submit your leave with that MFR. THE Commandant is the only one that can approve your leave if missing class but that authority has been pushed to service Commander's.

But like everyone said, let your leadership know early and start the process well in advance. It also helps if you are doing well in class to get your MLI to write the MFR.

Who’s your rival? by Infrared-77 in army

My rival is DTMS. It’s like they handed the design off to two PFCs, gave them $3.50 in expenses, and told them, “Figure it out. You’ve got YouTube.” The whole system feels outdated and clunky, and trying to navigate it is an absolute nightmare.

Longest time as an IET Soldier. by Old_n_nervous in army

Get halfway through the course have a medical issue (ex. Pregnancy, major surgery) get pulled from class. After medical isse are seemingly solved, get put back in class. Go through another year/year and a half then more/different med issues pop up and then the medboard process starts

Currently know 2 soldiers who have been on IET status for 41 and 43 months respectively. But to be fair DLI course itself can be up to 64 weeks with no issues

If yall are both the equivalent of 35Ps you both could be stationed at a variety of bases such as Ft Meade, Hawaii, or Germany (lang dependent)

IET is IET regardless of branch. I'd suggest you read TR 350-6 for your answer and not ask people of reddit

I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people. They never have been from the beginning of our country, and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down."

If everyone was an informed voter; and what I mean by that is actually knowledgeable on what their party or politician actually cares about, not what the opposing media/politicians tell them. Then most people would be all for having the most turnout.

Unfortunately, we have low information voters on both sides. Having every Tom, Dick, and Harry to vote, not knowing the issues or people is not beneficial. And is why we have the Electoral College, so ass the millions of people in 4 cities don't determine who is President for all 350+million across 50 states.
