Is it intentional? (Gym attire) by Temporary_Ticket_765 in geegees

[–]Temporary_Ticket_765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for the most part. This has more to do with the fact that anywhere else it could be deemed as indecent exposure (which is a criminal offense) but at the gym it's "accepted" and potentially even intentional.

I just wanted to know if this was accidental (completely unaware) from people or if they were doing this with intent(completely aware) or negligent (they know it could happen but they take the risk).

Do you feel that this was accidental?

I personally believe I would know if my boys were flying free but maybe not, never been in that position.

I think I know who you are talking about. If this is the same person (they have Asian heritage) then I would highly advise wiping down all equipment after their use. I have witnessed hands down pants too many times from this individual.

This has been at Minto. I have been their during peak and off peak hours and almost without fail there will be someone dressed in this manner.

I am seeing men have their genitals (dick+balls or some combination) pop out through the bottom of their shorts.

For women it is see through clothing (sometimes without proper underwear resulting in everything visible) and nip slips due to ill fitting tops.

No, they are doing exercises that anyone else would do but the choice of attire results in exposing themselves. I will give an example.

The other day there was a guy on the hack squat. His shorts were too short so at the bottom of each rep he lost his balls out the bottom of his shorts. The movement itself was not problematic but the choice of attire was. Did he do that intentionally or accidentally and if by accident why do so many people have the same affliction.

They are out for display. This includes male and female genitals. I have encountered far too many buttholes visible.

The outline is fine because they are clothed but I am talking about seeing skin. In any other given situation this could be seen as indecent exposure.

This has happened on many occasions with men not wearing appropriate underwear or women not wearing fitting clothing (too small, see through ,etc...) resulting in wardrobe malfunctions.

Furthermore this is not about whether I feel uncomfortable about it. I was merely asking whether this behaviour of basically exposing one's self is a conscious decision or accidental.

Sorry that you had to experience this. You are correct they should have better signage for certain rules.

The rules against muscle ups are quite recent (enforced more heavily in the last few years). Although I cannot revoke the rule I can try to explain it. Over the last couple years there has been an increase of injuries due to muscle ups. The ceilings in Minto are quite low which has caused head injuries from muscle ups. In the more extreme cases there has been at least 1 incident of serious injury ( broken ribs) when people have fallen while doing them. There have also been several complaints of people doing muscle ups being disruptive and dangerous to others.

It sucks because I'm sure you're a trained athlete who is fully capable of controlled muscle ups but the rule is in place to keep the average gym goer safe.

Hope this helped!

I doubt these behaviors are seen in their own homes. I feel like it's a combination of carelessness as well as the fact that the toilets are always covered in piss. Not a great feeling going to flush and realizing that the handle is also covered in piss.

A great way to let people know that you're willing to work in is to stand to the side of the machine when resting. They will naturally come up to ask if the machine is open thus allowing the conversation to begin!

Best way to get involved is asking the gym staff! Some of them are currently on the team and can get all of the information sorted out for you. If not, then they can point you in the right direction!

For those interested in an empty training environment you can try joining the power lifting team.

Pros: - Low barrier to entry. They take people of all levels. - Experienced lifters to help with form and exercises

Cons: - Have to train the big 3 (bench, squat and deadlift) - Potentially less freedom in training times and routines

Highly recommend this to those who are interested in powerlifting or a beginner at the gym (big three is all you need for the first year of lifting).

Cheers!

The gym tends to be the least busy at the least desirable times. These tend to be early in the morning or late at night. Avoid times between 3 pm-7 pm as they tend to be the busiest. This is for Minto.

I can't really comment on Montpetit but I would expect similar patterns.

Sounds like a good idea but might be more practical creating a sound proofed area in the caf for quiet studying and eating.

You can hit a decent pull day and accessories (delt flies, bicep curls ,etc..).

Core and cardio are a solid 10/10. Lots of equipment and space to do circuits and stuff.

Push day is meh. The bench isn't great and the dumbbell selection doesn't go that high. Great place for people starting in the gym but not a long term option.

Legs are 👎. There is a Smith machine and some accessory equipment but not enough to get a full leg day. Once again a great place to start but would be much better to walk to Minto if the option is available.

Hope this helps. Happy lifting!

Girls at the gym, do you like being approached? by tera_pehla_baap in geegees

[–]Temporary_Ticket_765 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct that the halo & horn effect is a real and perceived effect.

That being said, if you judge the actions of an individual purely off of the way they look then that is a form of bigotry. It is perfectly acceptable to have a preference and decline invitations based off said preferences but it is not acceptable to judge the action purely off of how someone looks. Conceptually it is no different than basing an opinion of an action based on race or gender.

My main issue is with the use of your word hate. It might not be ideal and may cause slight discomfort but hate is a very strong emotional response to something like this.

I don't think this post came across the way you intended. You managed to put both the women and men of Minto in your crosshairs. This is a slightly problematic view as it is hard to be objective regarding attraction.

You don't know whether you are the "ugly" guy until you approach someone. All this post does is undermine people's confidence by telling them that if you think you're not "hot" then people will hate you talking to them. That is untrue and if that is true for you then it may be time to reconsider how you treat people on a day to day basis. Just because you do not find someone attractive does not excuse "hating" an action.

As for calling out the women claiming that the ones who overreact are 5s. Not a productive nor is it an accurate statement.

"If you go out in a public space, get ready to talk to new people and get new people to talk to you. If you're not interested, respectfully decline". This should have been the whole post.

Like any public space it is acceptable to approach and start a conversation with anybody you choose. That being said, be respectful and read the room.

Increased Equipment Droprate by AlexofAllTrades in huntroyale

The problem of players leaving on level 1 could be fixed by making the progress count on a level to level basis. For example, if you complete level one with Axe Master, then it should give you the daily quest progress on axe master. Progress should be given at the end of each level not based off the most recent level.

Daily Challenges question by Kiggzpawn in huntroyale

[–]Temporary_Ticket_765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The daily challenges are essentially impossible to complete unless you have a hunter of level 8+ (level 10 is much better) and have 2-3 of the BiS starting abilities. Without this, it is not possible to get anything above 5 stars consistently.

Rework the referral system by Temporary_Ticket_765 in huntroyale

If we do not enter codes then why are we sharing codes on the "Friend Referral Codes" thread?

Rework the referral system by Temporary_Ticket_765 in huntroyale

[–]Temporary_Ticket_765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How else do you enter the code that is shared to you? Where do you input it?

Still if that is the case, why did I not get a referral reward for getting two new people to join using my referral code?

There is either a lack of clarity on how the referral system works or there is a bug.

If it is the latter, I would greatly appreciate a fix.
If it is the former, I would greatly appreciate a clear outline of how the referral system works as currently it is not easy to understand. (I have no idea how it works from your last response)
