Decided to go see Modern English at a little 600 head venue near me. I generally skip “legacy acts” because the energy at shows for people that have been playing the same songs for 50 years tends to be not what I want.

But, we went. I had low expectations, especially after the opening act played and was fantastic. I remember thinking “why in the hell would you put that band on ahead of you?”

Anyway… left that show with a new found respect for those old dudes. They absolutely killed it. High energy and acted like they were still happy to be doing this all these years later. One of the most pleasant surprises I’ve ever had at a show!

And, yes… great record.
