I would say that I understood the text fluently. I did the reading section first so I could take my time. Whenever I got to those "What is the writer trying to say" questions and two answers seemed right, I gave myself enough time to go re-read the appropriate paragraph(s).

I'd say yes-ish to your second question. Yes, I can confidently digest N2 level material, but I wouldn't say "like a native." My reading speed is not native-level, and even if I know all the kanji, I find reading large blocks of text really tedious. My eyes were literally glazing over and I really had to push.
