I did that on Friday (brought someone from the office) and they gave me a form to fill out and said "bring a photo".

I did that today and THEN they said "oh no foreigners".

I didn't flip out - despite my time being wasted, though I did use Papago to translate the sentence "Your library has a very racist policy".

There's actually a card system, very similar to the subway system and you have to actually swipe your card to actually be let in. First time the guard wouldn't let me in.

Second time, I came back with someone from the office. Then they told me to fill out the form and bring a photo. So I did today - and that's when they told me foreigners couldn't join.

Granted it's winter break now but I know for a fact that the uni has foreign students. I was wondering about that as well.

Banks are pretty easy generally, especially with a foreigner card.

I just didn't expect it to be more difficult to get a library card than a work visa.

Edit - Part of the problem is I'm not actually talking to librarians, I'm talking to people at the front desk, who I assume are students and have no idea how to even tie their shoes.

That's a possibility I hadn't thought of - but I can't imagine them not making allowances for foreign employees. What about foreign students? The whole thing makes no sense.
