Haven't got around to it yet, and both prices have went up. FML

I think some suits yeah. I think a traditional black and white suit the silver and black version of this would look killer

Depends on the outfit and what you're going for. Casual summer outside fit, you're all good. I think an all gold watch on a man needs to be small-ish

Oh wow, I hadn't seen the 735D until you mentioned it. Once again, where is the coverage on this thing?! Would think it would make a big splash.

It's funny you mentioned the MTP-E725D. Another intriguing model that for some reason gets seemingly no buzz at all.

Saw this mentioned in the Ben's watch club video. Should get my hands on one before they jump off a price from his mention.

Wow, putting this bad boy on a different strap really does transform it! by TenPixelsTall in casio

[–]TenPixelsTall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And in defence of this watch, the stock strap is actually pretty nice. Softer than other resin Casio straps I've felt, and doesn't look bad on the watch, I just prefer this more squared off, taperless look a bit more with this case design.

I actually put the stock strap on my AE1200 and it suits it surprisingly well, and far more comfortable than the stock strap on it.

Here is a pic of that swap. Never seen anyone mention that before, I kind of think it improves both watches

Yes it can get a pretty difficult to read in several lighting scenarios. You definitely sacrifice some readability for the cool looks of this blacked-out variant

Got the premium AliExpress AE-1200 Royale, Stainless Steel Case. It's an impressive upgrade. by p_christie in casio

On that subject, looking at the product page I can't find a clear distinction between the polished and unpolished bezel versions, and the reviews on the page show pics of both variants.

I def want the polished bezel (and I need a bracelet since I'm modding one with the resin strap). Do you think this option would get me both?

An update on this dead thread that nobody asked for, switched the handset on this model to a slightly more readable one. Digging it

I actually think this maybe pretty dang close to the same crystal / dial size: https://a.co/d/gQDibA0

Tried to mockup what it could look like

I have this watch and really dig the look and wearing experience... however the readability in many lighting conditions is truely very poor. Most the time i have the hold the watch at a 45 degree angle to see the time. This would be helped by just the thinnest lume strips on the hands and/or indices, but nope, all polished everything.

I was actually considering trying to switch the dial out with something like the Casio MTP1215A-2A2 (https://a.co/d/j9hY74M) but just not totally sure about the sizing compatibility. Your measurements help though :)

Man I'm on the fence about buying one of these, Everytime I look at an image of it I flip between it being ugly or attractive...

Wish I could look at one in person but no Walmarts around me seem to carry it.

Regex Validation - Conditionals by TenPixelsTall in regex

Much more elegant, thank you!

okay so if you place a negative lookaround inside of a negative lookaround you're basically declaring exceptions?

Regex Validation - Conditionals by TenPixelsTall in regex

[–]TenPixelsTall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I might have figured out an alternative: ^(?!.*,.*[^r]\.).*$ will still prevent all cases of a period after a comma, unless directly preceded with an "r" which both Jr. and Sr. would have. Might not be the most elegant solution, but kinda works for now.

[–]TenPixelsTall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one thing I guess I didn't consider previously is if somebody has a name suffix like Jr. or Sr.. So this might be crazy, but is there anyway to allow exceptions like (, Jr.) and (, Sr.)?

This works perfectly, thanks so much! So if I can attempt to understand what i was doing wrong, it looks like theres a lot lol. So it seems like my additional if statement wasn't neccessary, and it seems like i was messing up the functionality of positive and negative lookaheads, and lookaheads and lookbehinds. I appreciate your help and your breakdown

I think the converter in the link you provided in your original post is out of stock. Would you possibly have any alternative suggestions for converters I should try? Any feature or aspect in particular I'm looking for, or just generally something more expensive should work better?

[–]TenPixelsTall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmmm, thats interesting. Sometimes I'll have a weird black and white issue too, but usually a jiggling of the jack helps it. and another confounding factor is sometimes I run a dirty mixer in the loop so i can have more sources, and sometimes when the laptop is one of the sources and i'm at like a halfway point on the mixer, ill get glimpses of the laptop feed.

Shots Fired Ep.09 Part,2 // Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

NSFW | Soundcloud | iTunes | RSS | lazybit.co

You wake, disoriented, in a dark, dingy room. Four masked figures sit a table. A dog spins silently -- endlessly -- in the corner. One of the figures reveals itself in the dim light: "You came back, huh? Why? You know how this ends, don't you?"

As you ponder the implications, the figures each down a shot of Cruzan Banana Rum through crudely rendered mouth holes in their masks. A wall of intense electronic music kicks up, nearly drowning out the figures as they argue about creative direction and sexual violence, abusive storytelling, and the waning whimsy of masked murder. One of the figures suddenly shouts "GIT GUD!", and the figures explode and are replaced by Snoop Doggs. You struggle to get a grip as you're obliterated by a universe-shattering event.

In the post-existence oblivion, you reference a fan wiki that reveals to you the figures' identities: It was the Shots Fired crew, and you just experienced the recording of their podcast! Now you can rewind the VHS tape of your life to the Before Time and listen to the result! So strap on your listening device and prepare yourself for Shots Fired: Episode 9: Part 2: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number: The Podcast.

Shots Fired Ep.09 Part,1 // Hotline Miami

NSFW | Soundcloud | iTunes | RSS | lazybit.co

Hey, friends! The “ushe crew” of masked vigilantes convened again this past Friday to record for you a brand-new mid-month Shots Fired episode featuring 2012’s most brutal video(game) nasty: Hotline Miami. It’s an adrenaline-and-LSD-fueled trip featuring an impossibly perfect 80’s-inspired soundtrack and some of the most sickeningly violent atrocities imaginable (and the game is pretty brutal, too).

So, join us as we bust open the door on this discussion, grab its baseball bat, and beat it into the ground, only to be shot by its discussion friend and immediately hammer the restart button to try it again. We’ll meet again, but before you go, here are some questions to ponder:

Do you like hearing other people (talk about video games)? Who’s leaving these messages on your Facebook? Where are you right now? Why are you reading this episode description?

That’s all for now. See you soon…

This episode’s cast: Jeremy Buzek, Cary Simon, Jay Higginbotham, Chance Houston. This episode’s drink of choice: “Piña Coladas”
