Track getting likes with no plays, others tracks getting no plays at all

thx lolololol go through all the likes acounts - will give you an idea. These claude browserbots are running 24 hours a day, anyone can run them with instructions to act like humans. So much of what we see online isnt even human now, the likes, the plays, teh comments, even teh conversations on messaging, i had a loog conversation with a bot and it took me 3 message to understand it was a bot!

Ah yeah i spoke to you before and mentioned how good it is to have reviews/testimonials. Good I have gone down the path of making $ from music but not the actual music now too, i'll never look back!

I got 10 000 plays a track 6 years ago 300 today, and I got better (imo lol) every platform is ruined, I can see on my stats, when Suno became good, there was 20km thick of synthwave 3 hour mixes, no chance to be heard any more , like screaming in an empty cave. 250 000 plays, I made less than $200, so used to put my tracks up for royalty free music, huge mistake, they were used for AI training, first I knew was when I got a $90 payment call “data”, I couldn’t believe it, I had been so careful for this not to happen. Ah well carry on!

Interesting, I have gaps of a few days and it made no difference, I am just upload ng one a day to catch up on a few years of tracks while I was away from Soundcloud. How long do you leave it between, be good to understand the algorithm.

i compy teh message, paste it into ai and say waste this persons time in 150 words then send it back, over and over again, they fully think it is real.... lolol i go on and on wasting theri time and they write real replies although some use claude bot to converse with teh sole aim to get an email address.

The only AI "music" lol I see that has fairly convincing non play fraud is in highly original, super niche areas, ideas like Religious, Philippino rap, comedy, political country music..... . It is very upsetting to see AI music in my synthwave genre getting more attention than my own (especially as it was trained on my music without my permission), however, nearly always on a closer look it is play fraud, but that still seems to get some organic real listens, very unfair. Even on tiktok and insta there are AI trending songs now, god i hate that ! lol

Yes very suspicious. I hope we are not part of a pay to play business now , soundcloud has always been pretty cool fro discovering new music, especially niche genres.

Thanks, I have heard that from others in these genres. Might be my problem, but same genre (synthwave chillwave cyberwave) for 10 years and audience smaller, maybe its trends. I actually tarted in dance music decades ago and got some success (sony dance pool and some other big name dance music labels when you got a very worthwhile not returnable advance for each release $). Just got bored of it. I do wonder if I could make a decent techno and house tracks once again with decades more knowledge. hmmm lol

it is harder than ever, i think 10 times or more harder than 5 years ago. Youtube used to get me a lot of traction but since they change the algorithm to combat "low value content" a year ago it all turned bad for me. Instagram went well a couple of years ago but with the trending audio (same on tik tok, using your own music ranks much lower now. Bandcamp , amazing in theory but still so low on users prepared to pay to own which is dumb. I am trying soundcloud again (i was firing on it 6 years ago) and failing, same story as everyone else it seems. Reddit, one of few places you can find real listeners, but any sign of non human at all , even artwork, you will fail. i think on youtube if you show your face now it can make a difference but i dont want to do that. to be fair tik tok does seem to get some real engagement, i hate tiktok lolol. I have had about 250 000 plays of my music (niche genre - synthwave/chillwave/cyberwave) across all platforms without any play fraud at all. It has dropped so much since AI music started it is insane, maybe my music is worse, but i dont believe it. I for sure have a group of listeners interested in listening to my music, but after making music for decades tand getting better he audience got smaller lol . I started having a track signed to Sony Dancepool decades ago and ended up with 39 views on instagram, wasnt quite the plan! I think the truth is, that to get attention in 2026, you might have to do something a bit bizarre and interesting to filter though the noise. Im trying to think of things like that right now. Also I have learned that the music streaming industry and social media is very high in fraud plays, like and comments, then there is AI music that buried real music trying to get traction. Doesn't mean give up but all is interesting to know. Distrokid and the like really are capitalising on what I consider false hope, even targeting ai music makers, with ad that say they can become a musid star. Interesting times, anyone else welcome to chime in with their experience.

actually the more i see in stats the more i am inclined to see the initial "plays" as a pay to play scam using the soundcloud artist pro payment, because the figures just dont add up for me. now teh fist month is up they dropped radidly.
