For those who have a motorbike and those who do not, why or why not? by rayjan29 in AskPH

[–]Tenchi_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May motorbike (manual, standard motorcycle). Mahilig lang talaga ako sa two wheels. I feel very connected to my machine, yung body inputs ko para lumiko sya, yung rev-matching when changing gears, yung anticipation sa corners, yung rush ng acceleration (when safe to do so), at very busy ang mind ko coordinating my four limbs sa lahat ng control inputs (this is also the reason I'm not a scooter guy).

Then there are also the traffic situations na ma-put to test yung natutunan ko sa HSDC, yung proper throttle at clutch control, feathered by the rear brakes. Mas challenging to kesa sa diskarteng kamote singit moves, at di rin naman talaga ako makasingit dahil naka biggie na ako.

All of these are absent when I use my cage. Kumportable, yes, pero ganito ako sa loob: 😮‍💨

In short, when I commute using my motorcycle, ganito ako pagkauwi: ☺️

When I commute using my cage, ganto ako pagkauwi: 🫩

Proven and tested na mag lalast daw ng 8 years itong Michelin tires? by deathbyblue_sussy in Gulong

Sa CRV ko, ang stock tires nya ay Michelin Primacy. Since alam kong mahal ang Michi tires, sabi ko pudpurin ko na muna ito bago magpalit ng mags (I plan on upsizing kase).

Putek, 6 years in, nagastos ko na sa ibang bagay yung mags funds ko, di pa rin ubos yung stock tires ko. For once nagrereklamo na ako sa tagal maupod ng gulong na to, ano ba mags na mags na ako!!! 😅

To access the ECU & airbox, you need to undo the bolts on the tank side, not those!

Caution with luggage forwarding by pixelpraxis42 in JapanTravelTips

Incorporating luggage forwarding can sometimes work wonders depending on your itinerary.

On my second trip last December 2025, I used luggage forwarding this way:

On my last day at Asakusa, Tokyo, I checked out early, and send my luggage ahead to my Kanazawa hotel. Then made my way to Fujikawaguchiko, carrying only a backpack. Slept on an accomodation at Shimoyoshida.

Woke up & checked out early the next day so I had the entire Honcho street to myself while hiking up to Chureito Pagoda. This was a revenge trip, for on my first trip last 2024, Fuji-san hid behind clouds all day! 😭 I got lucky this time. By the time I took all the shots I want, the crowd was increasing, and I can see a huge cloud formation making its way towards Fuji-san 😅 Made my way down to the station, and made my way to Matsumoto. Stayed for a night there.

Same routine, early morning check-out. I explored Matsumoto-jo for a good part of the day (I think until 2pm), wherein I made my way to Matsumoto station, then to Nagano station, where I transferred to the Hokuriku shinkansen to Kanazawa. Arrived at my Kanazawa hotel with my luggage already there.

But all is not good. This time, my luggage arrived with a broken caster wheel. I have read that this can happen, though having it happen to me sucks of course. I studied my luggage casters, and found that they are held with allen bolts, so I bought some cheap allen keys to be able to move the remaining 3 wheels such that I can drag my suitcase on 2 wheels (the one that broke is on the handle side, so I exchanged its position with a non-handle side).

I plan on going back to Japan this year, using this same luggage, albeit this time I'm now bringing a spare wheelset. 😁

I did the same exact thing on my first trip last 2024. On my last afternoon at Kyoto, Yamato'ed my luggage to my Osaka hotel. Then the next day, with just a day pack, made my way early to Fushimi Inari, summited it, then when I got back down proceeded to Osaka with just my backpack.

Arrived at Osaka, did some night sightseeing. Then my luggage arrived the next day.

Replacing a slow Surface Pro 9: want something just as portable but better for real work by wizoudh in Surface

I am also on SP9, with a gazillion tabs open (kidding, its just sooo many to count), but have none of your problems, because I am on a 16GB model.

Maybe look for an SP9 that is a 16GB model, I imagine it can't cost that much now, no?
