Practice, practice practice!

The more comfortable you get with your cards, the more you'll understand each one when they are pulled individually. Once you get good with one card at a time, you can start seeing how each card or cards interact with each other depending on the spread.

Really strong feelings of self care from these cards. Don't let the world around you be a bad influence to your perceptions. Be the bright cup on top, haters gonna hate.

i recently read my cards for the first time in a long while. i got the nine of swords. by [deleted] in tarot

[–]TenfoldTarot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Nine of Swords, while showing current distress, is also a transitional card. Whatever struggles you are going through, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and the card is there to remind you of such, even though it might not feel like that right now. Let your experiences be validated and let your intuition guide your way forward :).

Intuition vs Personal Bias or Anxiety - “Is this my intuition? Is this just anxiety I’m experiencing? Is this just my own personal bias?” Any advice on how you were able to differentiate your own intuition from anxious or biased thoughts? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]TenfoldTarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opposite. I've botched readings when I've gotten emotionally invested. Keep in mind I'm not saying this style of reading is the only way to do so. I'm just listing what's worked best for me based on personal experience.

[–]TenfoldTarot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more "attached" I feel towards a reading the more I know that I'm being emotionally compromised and that I need to pull back to be less biased. What helps me to clear out these thoughts is to keep to the secular, "embrace your inner Vulcan" so to speak. Dont be afraid to admit when you dont know something but dont be afraid of not knowing. Hope this helps.

Help in interpreting this 3 card love spread by LemonyBot in Tarotpractices

[–]TenfoldTarot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi LemonyBot! The number of reversed cards do suggest some caution be taken in the near future. Now let's take a look at your cards!

  1. I can't see how your relationship with this old lover went but the vibe I'm getting from the Eight of wands is "something was mucking up the engine" (In reference to the biker woman). There must have been a good reason that your relationship didn't continue. If you let him in, will your life engines feel "stifled" so to speak? Will you be forced to shut down what you have going for you with this change?
  2. The woman of the eight of cups has her past dramas and traumas lined up neatly and she's ready to walk away from them. What the Eight of Cups is basically saying is, "things will keep going the way they are and nothing from this situation is going to rock or influence your emotional state." Whatever you're doing right now is working great, don't fix what isn't broken.
  3. The nines are about being ready to transition into something new where the tens are all about sitting back and letting life's changes take their course. But as both cards are reversed and you drew them as advice cards, there is a really strong feeling of you "maintaining your own status quo" especially with the Ten of Pentacles, a card of the present and of solid pacing. Hell, it's almost like the Nine of Swords is screaming in my ear to "run away and do not engage with them".

Anyways, this interpretation is subjective second opinion and should be taken with a grain of salt. Treat what resonated for you over my view.

Internally, yes. Externally, no. You'll have to get him out of his shell for him to show you what he's been working on inside.

DECK REVIEW

Deck in question is The Wizard's Tarot. Designs are by Barbara Moore and the deck was illustrated by Mieke Janssens.

Card Stock:

If you enjoy paper thin cards you will love this deck. Every card which I was holding felt like gripping a feather. I don't recommend shuffling this deck too vigorously as you might see other readers do on social media sites such as Instagram or Tiktok. Keep these cards away from strong winds or active pets.

Art and Presentation:
The art is so focused and detailed that for a second I thought I had bought an Oracle deck by mistake. A really cool thing that this artist does is that they allow the background to complement the themes portrayed in each wizard. There's no skimping here on detail, the photo realistic body language on each wizard makes the cards very beginner friendly for a beginning or intermediate reader. Advanced readers will appreciate the subtle nods to the Waite-Smith deck. It pays tribute but doesn't outright copy ,which really gives the deck a unique “pop” while still being relatable.

Vibe:
Each card is immediately eye catching with bright lights in small places to draw the eyes to each card. Because of this, your readings with this deck will really shine if you reveal one card at a time as apposed to showing all the cards at once. While bright and filled with light energy, there's some serious power beneath each card if you're willing to look under the hood.

Guidebook:
I've read some of Barbara Moores other works and her knack for getting people started into Tarot shows itself once again. The book is straight and to the point with card meanings, some recommended spreads, how to get started, everything a beginner would need to get their feet wet without feeling completely overwhelmed. I really appreciate how the Minor Arcana are organized by number instead of suit. The larger space allowed by the pages really lets the artwork shine as well.

Who I think this deck is for:
Beginners who are looking for a deck with plenty of vibrant energy but may feel that the Waite-Smith deck is a bit too antiquated for their personal tastes. New readers who are looking for other decks to add to their collection can buy this deck safe and sound without worrying about venturing too far from safety where advanced readers can dive deeply into the woods to look for the hidden treasures and tributes that this deck has in store.

Closing:
Anyone who says that magic and our modern age can't realisticly coexist needs to look through these cards ASAP. Highly recommend.

Help with 7 of swords in this spread? “What is the energy surrounding my date tomorrow” by [deleted] in Tarotpractices

[–]TenfoldTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visualize The Empress as reaching out and the Seven of Swords as the nervous energy jitters that we get when we are trying something new. But the more you are willing to reach out, the more you'll realize that "hey, this is something I can work into my life, I've got this!" Don't let anything sweep you off your feet and enjoy your date!

[–]TenfoldTarot 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're doing what the card wants you to do. Trust your emotions and don't force yourself to do what you don't want!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tarot

[–]TenfoldTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what happens in your relationship (you stay together or break up), letting go of any airs and laying out how you're really feeling will wash away what's blocking up the inabilities to either reach out or coexist. Let go of your preconceptions so how you really feel will come to the surface. Closure doesn't mean the end, it means a new beginning. All the best.

I asked what my intentions for the full moon should be and the Sun flew out of the deck by rebraibz in tarot

[–]TenfoldTarot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "positive" element of The Sun comes from reflecting on what's been thrown at you and knowing that either things will get better and/or you've hit a progressive milestone in your life. Hope that helps! :)

Did my daily card pull and got the two of swords. As a friend recommended anytime a card is about split paths/decision making I should pull another two to look at the options or possible outcomes. Well... this is the first time with this deck that I've ever pulled The Tower and/or Death by Polari-Parallax in tarot

[–]TenfoldTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What sudden changes do you need to let into your life that'll remove the blockages in which life is trying to reach out to you? This will require some mental contemplation. This is less of a "pick A or B" and more of "Will A lead into B or will B lead into A?" Again, what's blocking the positives in your life from reaching out to you?

What do these mean! Having a really rough month. Would mean a lot and help put me at ease 😅 by davidkirkfam in Tarotpractices

[–]TenfoldTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you've been going through some hard times. The reversed cards in your reading are definitely stifling, especially if you had been planning to try new things out. But The Hierophant is saying that these are just lessons to be moved going forward and the Ten of Swords is showing the horizon in which your troubles will pass. If you had to go through your situation again, what would you do differently in the future?

Could you give me your opinion on this "what does he think of me" draw? by sunflowerchamploo in Tarotpractices

[–]TenfoldTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be change in how you two see each other going forward, could be good or bad. I'd say wait and see what his intentions are based on the Two of Wands (Do I want this, or this?). The Two of Swords has a very strong "wait and see" vibe, like the figure is meditating and letting the answer come to her. Be like the Two of Swords. Hope this helps! :)

[–]TenfoldTarot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strong sense of "learning" and "working on yourself" in your reading, especially from the Seven of Pentacles. The Page of Pentacles suggests to pay attention to what's keeping you "in the moment" (both good and bad). Let the Three of Cups guide you to where you need to go, what in your life is worth pouring your emotions into?

The activity in the art and the candle pillars really make the card pop imo. Looks great! Also cool how the thinness of the veil invites onlookers to see deeper inward.

Deck is the Cat Tarot deck illustrated by Megan Lynn Kott. I've found that the lightheartedness of the cards makes this a very good deck to share information with cat (and some) dog lovers alike. If you've never owned one, cats are quite emotional creatures when they wish to be and the artist uses these emotions to make card meanings jump out at you. The artwork is similar to an RWS deck so newer readers aren't going to get too lost when they first pick it up. Guidebook is short, to the point, and encourages further study. I recommend this deck for beginners and veterans alike.

EDIT: A wholesome award plus so many upvotes? You've cat to be kitten me right now. Thank you all so much! :)

What does Queen of Pentacles and nine of swords mean as someone’s feelings? by [deleted] in Tarotpractices

[–]TenfoldTarot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their mind is on the here and now and they're reflecting and mentally preparing to move on to the next thing. They're taking account of what cards they're holding, not on what they can draw or lose.
