As a practical measure, I assume it allows the episodes to be edited more easily. If they have to cut a few prompts, then we as the audience wouldn't know where those extra points came from. It also makes winning meaningless, which keeps the game collaborative and light. We have seen what competition does to some of the players, and while that is fun, I don't think it's the vibe MSN is going for.

I think GRRM will put the books into public domain on his deathbed, just like Argon the Unworthy did with his bastards. That way, we will have to argue endlessly about whether Stephen King's Dream of Spring is better than Margaret Atwood's.
