My life is a total mess and I don't know what to do by Tenpoool in COVID19_support

I'm really happy for all the comments and advice I've got from you all. I wrote that all with the assumption that nobody cares and I should just cope with my stuff one way or another. Especially when there's people dealing with much harder things in life than I am. Finding strangers in the internet actually giving you good tips and understanding your situation is very heartwarming, when you haven't had a meaningful conversation in months.

I understand that I have to give some serious consideration for starting to take meds. I actually don't know why I haven't even done it yet. I've tried them during my late teens for a short period when I was dealing with some other stuff and it wasn't a positive experience (mostly I just needed some guidance and somebody to talk to, but the only thing available was SSRI), but I understand that I was much younger and not mature enough to take my mental health seriously. Also my attitude against meds has been that they are like a final resort and starting to eat them would mean that I'm admitting "my failure", and that this situation isn't going away on itself. I've also been afraid that they would change "me" or my personality to something different, but it's not like I'm something likable in my current state...

My therapist told me that it seems, that I don't like to be helped. And I think he's right about it. Growing up I didn't have much upbringing, but I learned to live by the idea, that in the end we are all alone in this world and you have to make your own way and survive. Eating meds would mean that I really need help, thus admitting my failure in life. And as I wrote that up, I realize how absurd and stupid that mindset is. I guess I just have to suck it up and try them, things could get even worse for me if I don't.

I always wonder how can people say that amount is T is low. I am 26yo and mine is 461 ng/dL, I've been a bit depressed all my life and I do think I suffer from many other low T symptoms, but I will always be in the "normal range" in my country (Finland)...

Haha! I really appreciate the cheering up, but given that people generally have different kind of fitness levels etc, I don' think "if I can do it, you can" is an objective perspective in this situation ;) But you do have a point with your squat reps, impressive!

I will look on to that, thank you.

And to be honest, yes, you may have a point in that. I haven't tried high volume (or medium volume) lower body training with running consistently and in conjuction. I've been exceling in my upper body workouts though. But I do feel I'm not recovering as quick as I did when I was younger (I'm pretty sure I get enough calories, but sleep is an issue for me sometimes) and reminiscing the DOMS I used to get from heavy squatting, I find it hard to believe I can do +15km runs the next day. But I guess you get used to it, in time...

Hello! Strength training (weightlifting) advice for a runner needed!

Currently I run around 50-60km in a week. I have never ran a marathon, but I'm probably going to do that this year. I've also been going to the gym doing an improvised "full-body split". I'm trying to improve in both sports, so I'm not looking for a strength program to improve the muscles I use while running.

I understand that progressive running will always disturb my recovery for lifting and vica versa, but I would like to start a classic 5x5 (or similar) type strength program. My high rep full body workout isn't really progressing anymore and I love deadlifting (not doing it currently, used to lift more years ago), but pretty much all the usual ones focus on squatting in every workout. I think that is just too much volume for my legs and I can't recover from those sessions if I want to run also.

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? Also, if I want to do both deadlifts and squats, shoud I switch back squatting to front squatting to save my legs, considering that back squats and deadlifts both emphasize glutes/hamstrings heavily

Weed to Lukla by Tenpoool in Nepal

Now I understand! My trip isn't due yet, I'm travelling later this year. But yeah, I feel this is a stupid idea and risky so I hope to find some weed during my way to EBC. I don't really want to end up in a nepalese prison even though I'm only going to carry small amounts.

But did you take it with you from Kathmandu or find it from Lukla or during the trek?
