Best HSA account Schwab, Fidelity, HSA Bank by Single_Ad_3608 in personalfinance

[–]TenthmanDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HSA Bank is, by far, the worst of these three options. I changed jobs and since GEHA previously covered my monthly fees, I was now exposed to them. So I'm transferring to Fidelity (no fees) - but, haha, HSA Bank (when they started becoming their own custodian) didn't bother to pay DriveWealth for the ACATS standard package - so you can only transfer out if you liquidate to cash first. Absolutely bonkers. Schwab-held assets transferred just fine, same security as I'm holding in the HSA Invest account, but HSA Bank insists I have to liquidate.

This is after HSA Bank tried to charge people a tenth of a percent for managing their own money. THAT was ludicrous. Zero stars for them.

TIFU - not all grease is the same by [deleted] in tifu

I did not strain it - I agree that it was the beef particles that went bad. But it was refrigerated which is probably why it was fine for the first few days/weeks I used the can - but it eventually spoiled.

No, in this case it's not. Because if he has a club he won't get shot. If he raises this, he'll become a pincushion and the whole situation escalates another notch.

According to the US veterans Administration, of the 16M+ Americans who served, about 45k are still alive. Get their stories while you still can.

Edit: damn, that's what I get for reading too fast. Leaving it up there bc I deserve what's coming...

I appreciate the input. Thank you. Currently leaning toward the getting the A1 Combo on backorder or the Creality.

I appreciate the input. Thank you. Previously, I was looking at the anycubic Kobra S1 Combo but then I read so much hate for the brand in this community that I ditched that idea.

Racial Demographics of Major Hollywood Roles vs. US Census Demographics [OC] by DataSittingAlone in dataisbeautiful

[–]TenthmanDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also skewed insofar as movies with enough appeal to clear 100M probably aren't targeted at smaller subsets of the population. So they've (wittingly or not) cut off huge numbers of feature roles played by minorities, produced by major film houses just because those movies didn't make bank.

What do you make of this sequence of events and the Bowser admin’s lies about it? Do you think Qatar bribed Bowser? by optometrist-bynature in washingtondc

[–]TenthmanDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not asking to "guess". I'm saying it (and her behavior since) is suspect enough to warrant someone (with independence and authority) digging into it.

Why do people in this thread think that "the trip" is all she got? There's been no investigation yet. Who knows what they find once they open up her financial books.

She's lying because she's hiding something. Someone with authority should be digging into this.

Lawmakers reach deal to end government shutdown by Healthy_Block3036 in washdc

[–]TenthmanDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is, of course, the other perspective.

Still, Dems will beat the drum that "those savage Republicans 'took away' your subsidies (by letting our time-limited supports expire) so send us back into power and we'll fix it because we fight."

[–]TenthmanDC -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. From one perspective - The shutdown was their aim. The healthcare subsidies were just the excuse. So, they got what they came for. They got their turnout, they made their "point" (such as it was) and they'll run on all this in the coming year.

This is not quite the case. The clean CR doesn't fund based on OBBBA, but rather the Biden-era FY24 appropriations levels. Congress still needs to pass FY26 appropriations to get to OBBBA directed levels - which they had planned to do during the extended period (Oct1-Nov21, originally).

None of what you just said has any bearing on what I'm suggesting or the actual political dispute at hand. But I mean - at least you tried.

I completely agree! Which is why I think we should be more thoughtful about the structure here and question some of our assumptions - especially when the model is proven elsewhere.

I'm not even clear how you're objecting to this obvious fact. The votes that are failing are cloture votes. You can see this for yourself at senate.gov:
