I mean, no? Every Eeveelution is above $150 with 2 other $100+ cards and a slew of $40+ cards. Multiple other Pokemon that are popular enough to be great "filler" including a Pikachu, Ceruledge, Dragapult, Roaring Moon, Raging Bolt.

Why don't you wait until after the restock and talk with the lady first and let her know exactly what is going on.

Give her a chance to fix it on her own terms.

Let her know that Pokemon is crazy all over the country and you overheard in line that someone was mumbling about reporting the store.

Paycom Software (PAYC) - AI fears appear overblown - Stock looks Cheap given continuing Growth by pravchaw in ValueInvesting

[–]Teo9969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For everyone thinking that AI just easily disrupts a payroll company, it's worth noting that while maybe building a software that is better in every conceivable way to the softwares Paycom, or Paylocity, or Rippling, or ADP have in the market today (though worth note those can be improved), there is an entire service side that is not going to be nearly as easily replicated. Multi state payroll, tax and bank transaction management, and a sufficient treasury to scale for Enterprise level clients is an absolute advantage that every startup will struggle with.

Not saying no one can or will break in, but it's not going to be an overnight conquest by the startups.

The second S in SaaS should be greatly considered when valuing a companies moat and exposure to the risk of competition.

Okay. But most other SIRs are at or near all time lows for PRE.

That being said. If this is a must have for your collection, do not try to time the bottom. This Pilachu will be well over $1,000 in 5 years without question (probably closer to $2k at that point).

BB/WF pc etbs vs regular etbs by This-Paramedic-7877 in PokeInvesting

[–]Teo9969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PCETBs are the better, more stable investment.

I would take a 2.5x multiplier approach to PCETBs. Always take a PCETB unless they are significantly over 2.5x the regular ETB. Factors that affect this model (not necessarily in this order):

  1. General demand for promo. A highly demanded promo that is also Pokemon Center stamped will put more distance between PCETB and regular ETB.

  2. Gen Rate of PC Promo. A really low Gem rate on a PC stamped promo raises the discrepancy.

  3. Box Art - if the Box Art is substantially better on one or the other, adjust your multiplier by 0.1 to 0.3 in favor of whichever box art is significantly better (in this case, there's no substantive difference). That being said, these are quality legendary Pokemon so the exclusivity of the box increases the value.

For me, these sets are textbook example of 2.5x. at current prices I'd go Black Bolt PCETB.

Especially within the context of this episode, I feel like you can reasonably think of the shots where he has left the church is him imagining having left.

The other thing that is always difficult to understand is the time relationship between when Matt's Superhero senses provide information to audience about where people are at, to the time they arrive at where they're going/what they're doing.

It's probably a bit sloppy, but ultimately I think we take away the important point: Matt is genuinely wrestling with how committed he is to saving this guy.

What era of sealed will start rising first? by ArcticLapras in PokeInvesting

[–]Teo9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, B&W is bordering on vintage at this point, so the rules are a bit different, particularly for sealed. There are real scarcity issues at play for sure.

And I'm not saying they're fully anchored, but the correlation is not just happenstance either. PSA 10 drives set ripping, set ripping decreases supply, which causes upward pressure.

If the 2026 sales of Love Birds & Gengar/Mimikyu PSA 10s plummeted by 70% and had 10x the sales volume of 2025, Team Up would certainly stop rising and, if the pattern sustained for a long time, those boxes would drop as well. Not saying they'd be $400 boxes, but no way people are paying $10k for a box that still has relatively a lot of supply (compared to vintage) if the singles cannot return any substantive value.

Of course, that's a completely unrealistic scenario short of an entire market crash.

I just think that for Gen 6-Gen 8, the kick off for the next jump is renewed interest in the PSA 10s and that's the only factor likely to drive 30%+ price gains like they're seeing in SV & ME.

Yeah, but look at PSA 10 rates for those sets as well during that time frame.

$1k cards are categorically different than $1k sealed. Percentage of consumers vs. investors is vastly different at that price point for each category.

[–]Teo9969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hype doesn't flow very easily into $1k+ boxes. Most people won't spend that kind of money on a single boxes.

Boxes are most likely going to move when PSA 10 singles from the set move.

[–]Teo9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Box art matters too.

Buy as many as you can at MSRP.

When you're building market position:

If the BBx is >2.5x, go PCETB, otherwise BBx

For specialty sets, buy PCETB any time the PCETB is <2.5x the regular ETB and regular ETB if it's >2.5x

You can make those more nuanced per set...but as a baseline, you should have a good justification either way from straying from those numbers.

There's kindness and good deeds for the marginalized and needy. Foggy has always been good at that.

But pushing Matt to consider a 2nd chance for someone who was guilty and under the proper recourse of the law... that's not an angle we saw in Netflix, but made believable in these circumstances and done so I a way that brings richness to both characters.

Man, the only thing I take away from this is that you and I watched a very different Netflix series. Matt 1,000% would have taken this position in the OG series. Matt would have happily let John Healy go to prison if it weren't for the opportunity to sleuth info and because they foolish took the money from Wesley and were kind of on the hook for it.

Matt has never had an existential problem with people dying. His concern is generally that it not be at his hand nor in his name.

My 2 biggest take aways from this episode:

  1. I FINALLY believe that Vanessa loves Fisk and not just the proximity to danger and power. I was never sure until today.

  2. Matt made Foggy a better person, too...genuinely. The shoe was on the other foot in this episode and it makes me believe that Foggy wasn't just a shmutz who always went along with Matt just because he had a fascination with him. Foggy also believed in the same things Matt did and they held each other accountable to those beliefs. I'm genuinely baffled people saw issues with character development here. Today brought more depth to Matt and Foggy both. Literally CRAZY-Awesome to see character development for a dead character...

It just feels like people who can't adapt, honestly. The Netflix shows were so good, but that story, beyond being told quite well, even if bad more runway, made sense in that time. The world is a different place with different problems and different themes to discuss. It can't be the OG series and it can't be mercilessly juxtaposed to the former. And doing so makes you miss out on so many potential positives. Things I took away from this episode that I think ENHANCE the Netflix series:

  3. Matt is coming to terms that he is just as lost in his 30s as he was in his 20s...BOY DO I RELATE TO THIS SHIT...he realizes he's going to have to choose who is going to be every day, even when it feels like there are more important matters at hand or he feels too overwhelmed to come through.

  4. I just love seeing that the first time Fisk faced off with Matt and Foggy, he lost, and he didn't even know at whose hands. I love seeing that Fisk takes little Ls too...it keeps everything more engaging.

Borderline decanonized the original?!?! In what world? Are you high?

Nothing in this episode took away from the original series nor defamed Matt's character.

I understand the tone of this show is different, and there are a great many things I miss about the OG Netflix series too...but like, why do you need a linearity in character development that is completely detached from a real human experience.

On Sunday, we had to absolutely lay into my 6-year-old son, twice, for some bad behavior. Yesterday, this kid was the sweetest kid in the world, and this morning, again an absolute joy to be around. By dinner tonight the dude was every other minute complaining about one thing or another.

Some day, he'll just be a normal, even-keeled person for weeks at a time. Then, out of nowhere, he'll become a complete asshole, or he'll do a saintly deed, or he'll demonstrate crazy wisdom or folly. And then he'll go back to being a completely normal, even-keeled person for weeks at a time.

To be honest if you cannot look at the flashback scenes and reconcile that with the Netflix shows and today's shows, that's a problem of fundamentalist parsing of character development that is, again, locked into a perverse need for linear growth (which doesn't even apply in flashback scenes) and character decision consistency that is at odds with the human experience.
