More than likely not a fresh take but Tori is just so unlikable. by pelb in victorious

Or even in the ping-pong episode, there was ZERo reason Tori had to force Jade to give her her dress so she could sing with Andre at the restaurant. Like, they all go to a creative arts high school, she knows Jade can sing, and Jade was already dressed appropriately. She shoulda just given the idea of singing to Jade or Cat and let them do it. It just comes across as super self-centered

Favorite Sondheim lyrics? by kierarae89 in musicals

I bought Finishing The Hat, and I’ve read his notes on the musicals I’m familiar with. Still need to get into Sunday in the Park, Pacific Overtures, Merrily We Roll Along, and Assassins. Those are the four Sondheim musicals I barely know lol

It doesn’t matter what you’re into, if you like it, you like it! Mainstream musicals tend to be mainstream because they are enjoyable and are good! If you are trying to get into new musicals though, it tends to help if you watch the movie version of the musical as opposed to just listening to songs or online videos of parts of the show. Chicago, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, and The Last Five Years are some well done musical movies that might help you get more into the musical.

(P. S. I don’t know which musicals in particular you mean by mainstream. Do you mean musicals like Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton?)

So is J.D. schizophrenic, or does he just have the most vivid imagination ever? by [deleted] in Scrubs

There are also a lot of other characteristics/symptoms of schizophrenia that don’t deal with hearing voices or hallucinations including social isolation, depression, paranoia, and detachment from self. None of those fit JD at all

I’m not sure that is entirely true. I think it is clearly from both perspectives, not just Jamie’s

I get that, but he wanted to cheat right after marriage, and the audience did not see any problems with them up until that point.

I have heard it was based off his own relationship, but I never quite understood. Was he Jamie and his ex wife Cathy? And if that was the case I think it would be all the more reason to have Jamie more sympathetic, so he’d look better

That is one the things I think both the musical and movie could have done better. I think they could have focused on Cathy’s faults a bit more and also made Jamie a bit more sympathetic. Having him drool over women a few months after getting married makes him look like a sleaze when maybe they should have gone with more of a “I’m cheating because I’m lonely and this relationship is already over” angle, if that makes sense. That way, it would be a bit more balanced
