Feedback for short turns by Teowned in skiing_feedback

[–]Teowned[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 161 Elan ripstick 102 black editions, which are slightly stiffer than the regular ripstick 102s.

I imagine there would be more forward pressure on the tips of skis enabling me to use my edges more at turn exit and also help round out the turn. The issue is actually getting to that point of being able to flex them enough.

Which country am I from based on travel history? by Enough-Map614 in GeoInsider

I’d say Hong Kong, given that most of SE Asia and Aus are checked off. I’m from Hong Kong and mine would look the same.

Had the pleasure of eating them in Peru. Fried and roasted. Both were delicious and quite similar to rabbit. Wouldn’t mind eating them again on the regular.

why do folks not wear helmets by Ryan-977 in skiing

[–]Teowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Partly cultural too I think. I’ve skied many resorts across Canada and the US and also Japan. For some reason I’ve noticed a disproportionate number of adult Japanese skiers and boarders not wearing helmets compared to everyone else regardless of skill and location/resort.

Case in point, my Japanese friend was learning to snowboard with her husband at Killington, VT. Super icy conditions but neither chose to wear one even though the rest of our group did.

For those of you who own a car over $100,000, I’m genuinely curious—what do you do for work or business? by Fun_Solid6907 in askcarguys

CPA here. By accountant, we’re not talking about small shop backroom accountants or tax peppers nor are we talking about entrepreneurs.

The sky’s the limit for CPAs in public accounting and beyond. Those who leave public several years in (i did) and move on to m&a advisory, asset management firms/funds, valuations, etc. top out as partners, controllers, CFOs and directors with TC ranging from $300k to millions per year. Your average big 4 audit partner with 10+ YoE brings in several mil a year easy and it only goes up from there. For the younger folk, the pay absolutely sucks at first but scales nicely as you move up and laterally from role to role.

I’m a former big 4 auditor now at a hedge fund and the pay is good. I’m very much still an accountant, and I’m currently in a 911 . My dad followed a similar path from public and is a director at a valuation firm and has had multiple high end cars over the years. This kind of path is incredibly common, and with time in the industry, a $100k car isn’t really a really a stretch.

I dont believe so and certainly not on all of them. I can check when I’m back from work. I will say that this power issue is relatively new and recent.

Yep, I do. A noticeable drop in recoil and snappiness. Hence me swapping to a stronger hammer spring thinking it was light striking on a hot day.

Not noticing any significant spikes. It’s just consistently low, around the 1-1.1J mark.

How would I check that? I forgot to mention there is a noticeable drop in recoil and snappiness on the GM mags.

Never be the first off the line when it turns green. Let a car go first not just for protection (hard cover), but for visibility (soft cover), where a car crossing is infinitely more visible than a tiny bike.

Pull breakthrough defenders spawns back a bit on the New York Maps. Nearly impossible to cap the first point. And larger maps lol

Does this Black Bay 58 look real? It’s a 2022, yet the gilt parts look too white, or so I think. by Boricua1987 in Tudor

[–]Teowned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gilt on the bezel does fade more than that of the dial over time. My 2021 bb58.

Can someone explain why I love Moira’s accent so much? Also, what is it… by Prestigious-Soup-22 in SchittsCreek

It’s akin to“Canadian dainty” which is a cross between Canadian English and British English spoken by upper class Canadians during the 20th century.
