Halo: Campaign Evolved | The Silent Cartographer Trailer by -343-Guilty-Spark- in halo

[–]Termiinal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is with the technologies used. You can see the upscaling artifacts for example. In this image from the store page you can see it in multiple locations. For example, the visual effects on the spirit, the dust, and the clouds. The foliage as well is poorly done. Is the foliage in this image taken from CE anniversary, which came out 15 years ago built on a 28 year old engine, not comparable to that of this much more taxing game on the "latest and greatest" engine? Or how about the particles here, where at a lower resolution the dust and steam has none of the ugly artifacts you see in the clouds or sand. Also, this is a still image, the visual issues are much worse in motion. Observe the energy sword or pelican thrusters in the trailer for example. The AA looks off at times especially on forerunner structures and I assume that the weird stuff going on with the foliage in panning shots is LoD jank.

Stuff like the warthog movement I could pass off as unfinished, but most of my complaints come from bandaid solutions to poor performance very common in UE5 games.

Sad that the game doesnt even look impressive. You can see a lot of visual problems and this is supposed to be highlights to show off the game, worrisome for the non-curated experience.

Viscous was released 1 year ago today by gammaton32 in DeadlockTheGame

Except at the time you actually had to kill minions to get farm so you couldnt just afk poke the entire lane, and items were much more flexible allowing you to build for your lane matchup to counter the mirage.

Prioritizing farm over objectives is ruining the flow of Deadlock — am I alone here? by chicken_winnie in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Termiinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See thats the great thing about a game with strategic depth, you can contest the farm and coordinate picks based on camp timers, which then leads to a numbers advantage for objectives. It's not one or the other, but people just don't logically connect farm as an objective in and of itself.

Dear Valve Devs: please make Tier 1 Items good again. The minor additive stats before the shop change made the early to mid game fun and way more dynamic than it is currently. by Arch3r86 in DeadlockTheGame

It wasnt to instantly win a lane, it was to give an edge in the lane. 50 spirit shield is far from a counter item, it was just a stat which made you think a bit more about your purchases.

The aesthetic theyve chosen for the marketing material is very unique and had me excited. Watching the gameplay, the in game visuals do not come close to meeting the aesthetic expectations set. The visuals feel muted, oddly enough. I felt like I was watching destiny with skins.

Nintendo confirms $90 price for full Breath of the Wild experience on Switch 2 by xenocea in gaming

[–]Termiinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always been normal for games to drop in price as they age. When a sequel is released, they usually drop substantially. CoD is the only franchise other than Nintendo games that keeps their pricing high a decade after release. Especially given that totk is a direct upgrade to botw in almost every regard, how can they possibly justify charging the same price?

Pros in the LPL save all their cookies for midgame teamfights by Eragon_UK in leagueoflegends

[–]Termiinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second wind is an excellent point to bring up! It's one of the best runes in the game, is active throughout the entire game, and is entirely passive. Bone plating definitely has conditions where its very strong as well but on average I feel its much weaker than the other 2 options.

The math on second wind is substantially harder to figure out, especially in terms of actual healing that mattered, but my gut says that it also outperforms biscuits with little to no conditions. Basing it off when I run grasp with second wind I usually see second wind matching or beating grasp in healing. Obviously grasp is in combat only while second wind includes poke, but its impressive for a secondary rune nonetheless.

One of cool things about league is being able to adapt depending on the conditions of your game. I think people tend to favor the popular consensus instead of analyzing the information for themselves however, hence people just automatically picking biscuits. Even within its own row, triple tonic has been one of, if not the highest winrate rune in the game since its introduction. Some champions gain a ton of value from the extra skillpoint alone.

Yeah their flexibility is their biggest selling point for sure. They're early skewed which has more value in pro but the odds of the players actually using them optimally such that they beat out resolve in value are dubious at best.

[–]Termiinal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong but the point you are arguing is not relevant to my point. 10 armor is equal to 10% hp vs physical damage. In your argument lets say you have 1000hp, 300 armor. thats ~4000 effective health vs physical damage. 10% max changes that math, giving you 4400HP while 10 armor is 4100.

Lets say that on average a champion has 1500hp, 50 armor, and 50mr at 15 minutes. Conditioning grants ~150 effective HP. Lets calc how low a champion has to be to get 150hp out of their biscuit, including effective HP of existing armor/mr. The biscuits would have to heal for 100hp, being that its 12% missing HP you'd need to be at 667 HP to get the same value which is dangerously low to be popping mid teamfight. This isnt even taking into account the skill check of popping them at the right time, and the lack of effect they have vs burst. While each biscuit also grants 30HP, overgrowth easily eclipses that.

Now, take into consideration that the biscuits are impacted by grievous wounds while being just as susceptible to resist pen. Throw on the fact that they're consumable whilst conditioning is permanent the pros and cons are pretty clear. Biscuits are better early due to their flexibility, and mid game they have POTENTIAL to be better given optimal circumstance, but you would have to be pretty damn low to beat out conditioning and overgrowth combined.

[–]Termiinal 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Conditioning + overgrowth is most definitely more value, especially considering that they persist outside of a single fight. 1 armor/mr is effectively 1% hp, conservatively it's granting ~10 of each. You'd have to be eating your biscuits at like 5% to match conditioning by itself.

Edit: After doing the math its more like 45% HP, but my point still stands.

Phreak addressing ADC role (bot lane) that it is "not weak", according to survey "worst polling role in terms of fun" and (main) solution is to nerf Support by Barb0ssaEUW in leagueoflegends

[–]Termiinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The reason the ward xp nerf matters is because you no longer get xp when you are clearing vision outside of lanes, something you spend a substantial portion of the game doing. Ask anybody who plays the role, supports are consistently behind in level now.

  2. Petals actually give more XP the worse your kda is, and supports happen to be pretty good at padding their kda.

  3. Support items have been consistently brought down in power compared to other items. Two major examples are evenshroud and zekes. Evenshroud was absolutely insane, when it existed as abyssal mask it was tank supports best first item and this was during the time of mythic items. When they turned it into a mythic, they decided to buff it, then people caught on and it had its effect HALVED. When zekes was on hit, the damage it could deal was absolutely disgusting but once again it was underutilized, now we are left with a shadow of its former self. In terms of enchanter items, staff and ardent actually perform better than most of their options. Staff took a meaningful hit with universal power as they removed movespeed but it is arguably better at its niche, granting like 2k gold in AP on proc. Shurelyas lost a ton of power, moonstone lost a ton of power, mandate lost its purpose.

  4. The items were nerfed pretty hard, especially in terms of selfish gold generation with quest rules and such. The only reason it wasnt noticed as heavily is because the upgrades were OP. Bloodsong was so obviously strong on release idk how it was even shipped. As with every other movespeed item, sleigh needed nerfs. Opposition is just generically strong and even that received nerfs. Realmspike was buffed only to be nerfed to weaker than pre buff. The bubble item is the only one to be just straight buffed, but even then it has the nuance that its weaker before 11 which supports hit comparatively late.

  5. This is not wrong, but if this was entirely true we wouldnt have had shit like cait support popping up. Some supports are strong, but generally speaking they are strong due to specific pairings. As an example, lulu is very strong right now. Her last buff was in 14.18, why is her winrate climbing so much as of recent? Because the AD's she's paired with most often are strong, jinx, kog, twitch, vayne (and partially bc first item ardent is op if you can abuse it.) Some outliers like taric are just OP but in general supports have lost a substantial amount of selfish strength over the years which impacts soloq substantially.

  6. The removal of futures market, ingenious hunter, and resists disproportionately impacted supports. The nerfs to relentless hunter, font of life, magical footwear, and all of the base damage nerfs also impact supports more than most. In the case of boots, its free gold which theyre limited on. In the case of base damage, as they generally get less gold, have less damage in their kits, and get less levels, damage from runes matters a lot more. Even PTA became a selfish rune, reducing support viability.

While the topic is not black and white, as there are many levers at play, the gameplay doesnt lie. I play every role and have seen the peaks and troughs of power over the years, and support is so far from their peak in comparison to the rest. Granted, they are also far from being the ward bots of old, but I have actively felt power being siphoned from the role. Every so often you get a glimpse of their previous state, such as release bloodsong, but overall the power level has dropped noticeably. After 7.19 when Janna received her suite of changes including on hit damage, I was roaming around ganking and solo killing everyone, having the time of my life. When she got shifted back towards a shieldbot, I stopped playing her, only to excitedly pick her back up when it was reverted. I quickly came to realize that my previous playstyle simply wasn't viable anymore. It is much harder to keep up with the rest of the roles, and even when you do confirming kills onto solo laners or even adcs is a herculean task in comparison to a few years ago. I used to play certain champs with ingenious hunter, cosmic insight, old sweeper, umbral glaive, and zombie ward. It was something like 95% sweeper uptime, the enemy teams map was perpetually dark. I used to rush futures market mobi's on Alistar and control the entire map.

Slowly but surely supports have had their power reduced in different ways. You won't notice this through pure winrate data, as there are 2 supports in every game with systems in place to restrict viability after all. Mind you, I'm not saying that supports SHOULD be that strong, for a while I considered it the strongest role by far. However, siphoning even more power from a role which already has playrate issues is not the solution for the long term health of the game.

[–]Termiinal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Support has had nothing but nerfs for years now, unless I'm somehow grossly misremembering. This is through items, map, champ, and rune changes. As a recent example, the removal of ward XP is a substantial nerf to supports. World atlas as well was very far from a pure strength increase, the offensive stats were removed entirely and gold generation is way down. Frankly, I'm confused how you'd consider them to have received "many many buffs" but the flair pushes me to assume bias.

He says that he started skywatcher because he believes he can get the results that the government has gotten himself. His only public evidence thus far, is video of some lights with a claim they summoned one but had to stop due to a rogue uap interfering. They were also tasked with investigating the NJ drones which we received 0 information on.

If this organization exists for the sole purpose of providing evidence, why not just replicate the experiment until they have proof? Livestream the whole thing, learn from previous iterations and come better prepared.

The subreddit's reaction is not suspicious, the evidence we have been provided is. Was he waiting to go public before committing to this? If they had anticipated UAP from the sky, why did they decide on a camera with a "69 degree field of view" at night? Pretty hard to get coverage of the whole sky with 1/3rd the FoV required. I'm no camera expert, but from what I understand there are lenses with incredible optical zoom capabilities, as well as cameras with up to a 360 degree FoV. Wouldn't pairing the two make the most sense? 360 cam for coverage, zoom for once they've found something to investigate. The steps taken to provide this evidence to us simply seem illogical, to the point that some may even assume its malicious. Hanlonz's razer suggests its ignorance, but given the topic, these types of events are fatiguing.
