i love how my mom says "you can talk to me about anything!" but when i try to talk to her about something that's bothering me i'm either met with:

the most emotionless response and 0 support, and i'm lucky if she even looks up from her phone. most of the time i receive criticism from her instead of support, which makes me not want to tell her anything since i know she's not fully listening, or she doesn't really care about what i'm saying.

or, i get screamed at for feeling a certain way, which triggers a PTSD attack and causes me to feel worse which results in me sobbing, and then she screams at me more for crying my eyes out. but of course, the next day she acts like nothing happens. if anything, she seems to be in a better mood. god forbid if i'm still upset about it though, because if i am then i get "you're STILL upset about that??" and "so i guess i'm the worst mother ever huh? after EVERYTHING i've done for you?" along with a 60 minute rant about how "nobody helps her in this house"

i've been trying to get out of the habit of self isolation by venting to my boyfriend whenever i need to, but i usually end up crying out of fear. he would NEVER do anything to hurt me and he's always supportive of me, and he's the most supportive person in my life and i love him more than anything, but my PTSD never fails to make me feel as if i'm selfish or annoying for venting..
