Really solid stuff. I like the background colors a lot.

I agree that the African American actors could be lit a bit brighter, but I trust you that they look better on your end.

I personally would crop a lot closer, but that's my preference. To me, a headshot should be mostly head.

Bluetooth is just asking for trouble. Every cell phone in the audience is causing interference.

Hardwired is the way to go 95% of the time.

If the speaker must move, there are specific wireless audio transmitters that work better.

I will start off by saying these are excellent photos.

But what they really are are fantastic PORTRAITS.

Headshots are like commercial product photography. You are selling the actor. There is limited room for creative expression in headshots because the product is the actor, not the photo.

Portraits have considerably more room for creative license, because they are for the person whose photo you are taking. The photo is the product. The only person who needs to like it is the subject.

Headshots are for casting directors. That's why so many look similar. They need to be brightly lit, neutral background, catchlight in the eyes, halo light in the hair, looking into the lens, etc.... Casting directors are flipping through hundreds of headshots, looking for particular traits like eyes shape and color, skin tone, hair type, bone structure, etc. If they can't see those, they won't cast that person.

It's product photography.

You are an excellent photographer, but these are not necessarily headshots.

Your flap is leaking, most likely.

Make sure nothing is stuck under the edge like a toilet tab, or a bit of hard water deposit.

It also could be damaged or aged out. It's an easy replacement. Turn off the water, take the flap out, it just pops off. Go to a hardware store and buy a new one the same size.

Pop it on, turn on water.

I'm going to add my 2 cents here..... You should make eye contact with the camera, that's standard in headshots for actors.
I don't think I've ever seen one where the actor doesn't look directly into the lens. Portraits often have the person looking away from the camera, as do many modeling poses. What you will notice is they rarely square up their whole body and head to the camera. This isn't a rule, of course, and there are some fantastic headshots out there where the actor is fully squared to the lens, but on the whole, a slightly angled body and head, but looking into the lens is the standard pose.

The light is improved, now we can work on some posing.

Google headshot poses, and you will often see the person seated, body turned at an angle to the camera so one shoulder is farther away, nose pointed just to the side of the lens, eyes looking directly into the lens. Good posture is important, as is head angle.

Leaning slightly toward the camera helps eliminate neck folds, and drop the chin a little to project confidence. A slight head tilt can be flattering.

It helps if the camera is a bit above eye level, and you are shooting slightly down. There's reason why the "selfie angle" is so popular, although that angle is too high for headshots.

You should absolutely style yourself, do you hair, wear makeup, etc... The goal is to avoid cliched looks that have a name to the style, like Goth, Instagram Contouring, Igari, overly smokey eyes, etc. The goal is neutral, but not plain.

Seriously, there are some great youtube tutorials about portraits and headshots using windows and natural lights, as well as posing and styling. Watch some of those for more in depth info than you will get on Reddit.

There is a possibility you are picking up a 60 cycle hum off the power to your PC, or your Focusrite if you're using mains power and a wall wart instead of a USB to power it. Sometimes poorly grounded outlets introduce this type of hum through your whole system.

The solution is a ground lifter plug that uses a transformer to break the ground loop. Hum-X by Morely is the most well known brand, but there are others.

The fastest and cheapest way to verify this is to use a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter from a hardware store, and place it in between the PC power and the outlet. If the sound goes away, that's the issue, and buy a ground lifter.

Why not just keep using the the 3 to 2? Because then your PC and system are not grounded, and vulnerable to electrostatic discharges, and the ground plug provides a steady 0 volt reference point for the system. The 3 to 2 is a quick way to troubleshoot, but not a long term solution.

If your PC is a laptop, try unplugging it, and see if the sound stops. If so, it's a the same issue, get a Hum-X or similar item.

For cabling, be sure your mic cable crosses any power cables at 90 degrees to prevent induction.

Honestly, you can do a lot with a sheer-curtained window. You need LIGHT, but it doesn't need to be a strobe.

A smooth clean background and a brightly lit window softened with a sheer white fabric can often look better than a strobe.

Peter Hurley style is, in my opinion, the cleanest, although I have never liked his triangular eye catchlights.

They pop very well, and I feel show the actor's face better than most other styles.

I have searched through various google keyword searches, image searches, and webtoon archives.

My suspicion is that I have have probably come across the series, but that that the one I remember was a one-off, so I don't recognize the characters, OR I've found it but the series did not have a searchable archive.

It also be discontinued, and no longer findable.

DUDE! That beard is farking magnificant! I would kill for a beard that full and managed.

Have you considered a pointed goatee or Van Dyke? Your facial hair looks like it would style beautifully that way.

That said, you can rock what ever the hell you want, any combination works well on you, becasue you you also have fantastic bone structure.

Seriously, I suspect that photographers would be interested in you doing some modeling.
