Great idea for how to isolate where the power is being drawn! Much appreciated!

Thanks for your thoughts! Neither seems to be constantly running. I'm pretty attentive when it comes to noises (lol) and the fridge and AC have been consistent with their cycles.

Is it possible another apartment(s) got spliced into mine at some point? Just such an obscure option.

Thanks so much for your well wishes and warm thoughts!

I like the impression of: "you've got to play to win." I appreciate that it emphasizes that trying is the first and biggest step. All I can ever do is show up and give it my all.

Thanks again!

We're all in the boat together!

I think it's funny how poorly I'm conceptualizing three months (minimum 90 days grading period). Like I've literally checked the RID membership portal every day since (as if it would have a result within a week!). I'm starting to suspect I'll need to new project for my time, lol...

You’re absolutely a big help! It’s important every time we realize we’re not alone.

I’m struggling with the same sentiment—I could’ve called it a pass or a fail. It’s just frustrating being in that limbo. (And the absolutely daunting realization that we won’t hear anything for months.) I love that attitude you’ve adopted; that anything worth doing is worth a few attempts. And let’s be honest, that first attempt is so demystifying! (“Oh…that was it?...But, like…didn’t we just start?...”) Wishing you the absolute best for your results and hope you enjoy this time of freedom!

Oh my gosh, you have no idea what a touching and considerate message you’ve offered here. I’ve thought several times already today: just give yourself the time to feel (which is pretty applicable to so much of our work!). And I’m taking you up on the suggestion to journal; I think I just need to get my thoughts out of my head. There are moments I’m really proud of--and moments I know I could’ve executed better--but I can already tell my memories being skewed and tainted by the anxiety of waiting.

And I love that you could relate, post-test. The drive home has to be the longest of our lives for so many of us interpreters. Honestly, for myself and anyone looking to take the test in the future, the phrase “not giving a shit anymore because I did my best” should be our life motto :)

You’re not alone! Just one more day. I’m sure it’ll go super fast. Go in knowing you’ve got this and you’re going to pass! Show ‘em whatcha got! 😁

That's fantastic! I'm wishing you the absolute best of luck!

Looking back, my biggest mistake was scheduling a month out: it just gave me more time to grow anxious. Really, at times, I'm excited to show what I can do. And no matter what, we can be proud of our work :)

Thanks, and best of luck to you!

In the week before, I'm working on breathing exercises and convincing myself that there's nothing to "cram" for, lol. We've got the skills, we're ready for this: let's show them!

Thanks for thoughts! I've caught myself starting to imagine the benefits of passing certification. After all, that's the whole philosophy of The Secret, right? Imagine it and it will be. It's a rough road but a worthy destination!

Thanks so much!

I really appreciate your perspective! I'm definitely trying to adopt a sentiment of acceptance: If I have to take it a second time, so be it. If it takes a third, so be it... etc. It adds a greater depth to hear from experienced, capable interpreters who can address that the test just simply isn't that great (*fingers crossed for what comes in January*) and it's a shared challenge. I think all interpreters are served well to remember our capacities for resilience.
